   FOR SOME LOCATIONS IN THE NORTHWEST/NRN ROCKIES TODAY...BEFORE A
   DEVELOPING STORM SYSTEM IN THE PACIFIC BRINGS A COOLER AIRMASS INTO
   THE AREA. LARGE SCALE RIDGE WILL PROGRESS EWD TODAY... WHILE SFC
   FRONT MOVES THROUGH PACIFIC NORTHWEST/GREAT BASIN THIS AFTERNOON.
   THE INFLUENCE OF THE UPPER RIDGE WILL RESULT IN SYNOPTIC SCALE WINDS
   MAINLY IN THE 10-20 MPH RANGE ACROSS THE WEST. FARTHER
   EAST...ANOTHER SFC COLD FRONT WILL PROGRESS SWD ACROSS THE
   DAKOTAS/MN. SUSTAINED SFC WINDS ACROSS THE NRN PLAINS/UPPER MIDWEST
   WILL RANGE FROM 15-25 MPH. HOWEVER...MAX TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S/70S
   AND MINIMUM RH VALUES ABOVE 30 PERCENT WILL DECREASE ANY FIRE

   A STRONG SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE ACROSS THE NRN ROCKIES ON
   THURSDAY...BRINGING VERY WINDY CONDITIONS TO PORTIONS OF THE PACIFIC
   NORTHWEST/ID/MT AND THE NRN HIGH PLAINS. THE SHORTWAVE WILL BE
   LOCATED ACROSS CNTRL MT BY THURSDAY EVENING...WITH MID LEVEL FLOW
   INCREASING FROM AROUND 30 KTS THURSDAY MORNING...TO NEARLY 60 KTS BY
   EVENING. A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE EWD ACROSS MT DURING THE DAY
   THURSDAY...AND WILL EXTEND FROM NERN MT TO CNTRL WY/NWRN UT BY
   24/00Z. AHEAD OF THE FRONT GUSTY W/SWLY SFC WINDS OF 20-40 MPH ARE
   EXPECTED. IN ADDITION...STRONG SFC WINDS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS
   INTERIOR NRN CA BY THURSDAY AFTN/EVENING IN RESPONSE TO THE
   INCREASING PRESSURE GRADIENT. BOTH FIRE WEATHER AREAS OF CONCERN
   WILL BE INCLUDED IN A CRITICAL OUTLOOK AREA FOR THURSDAY.

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED SFC WINDS OF 20-40 MPH WITH HIGHER
   GUSTS/ABOVE NORMAL HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 70S/ MINIMUM RH VALUES
   BELOW 20 PERCENT / CRITICALLY DRY FUELS
   
   ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE 10-20 DEGREES COOLER ON THURSDAY THAN
   IN PREVIOUS DAYS...THEY WILL BE STILL BE ABOVE NORMAL. WLY WINDS
   WILL INCREASE TO AT LEAST 20 MPH BY EARLY AFTERNOON...WITH STRONGER
   WINDS DEVELOPING DURING THE DAY. MINIMUM RH VALUES WILL RANGE FROM
   15-20 PERCENT...WITH RECENT OBSERVED FIRE DANGER CLASS VALUES IN THE
   HIGH TO EXTREME RANGE AND 100 HR FUEL MOISTURE VALUES BELOW 10
   PERCENT. SHORT RANGE ENSEMBLE FORECAST GUIDANCE SUGGESTS MAXIMUM
   FOSBERG VALUES WILL BE AROUND 80...WITH WIDESPREAD VALUES ABOVE 50
   FOR A NUMBER OF HOURS DURING PEAK HEATING. WINDY CONDITIONS WILL
   SUBSIDE BY LATE EVENING...WITH MUCH COOLER TEMPERATURES BEHIND THE
   FRONT.
   
   ...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA 2 - INTERIOR NRN CA...
   
   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED N/NWLY SFC WINDS AROUND 20 MPH / MAX
   TEMPS IN THE 80S/90S/ MINIMUM RH VALUES BELOW 15 PERCENT
   
   AS A THERMAL TROUGH DEVELOPS ACROSS INTERIOR CA DURING THE DAY ON
   THURSDAY...A BUILDING RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL INCREASE THE
   PRESSURE GRADIENT RESULTING IN STRONG WINDS. SUSTAINED WINDS WILL
   INCREASE INTO THE 15-25 MPH RANGE...WITH OCCASIONAL HIGHER GUSTS.
   TEMPERATURES WILL BE VERY WARM WITH LOW RH VALUES...RANGING FROM
   10-15 PERCENT. STRONG WINDS WILL PERSIST INTO THE EVENING
   HOURS...AND INTO FRIDAY.
