   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0356 AM CST MON MAR 01 2004

   VALID 011200Z - 021200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG UPPER TROUGH WILL SHIFT ENEWD FROM THE PLAINS INTO THE
GREAT LAKES/OHIO VALLEY THROUGH THE PERIOD. STRONG WINDS WILL
CONTINUE TO ACCOMPANY THIS TROUGH FROM THE ERN PLAINS INTO THE OHIO
VALLEY. RECENT WETTING RAINS WILL PRECLUDE ANY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS DESPITE THE COMBINATION OF THESE STRONG WINDS AND LOW RH
READINGS. FARTHER EAST ACROSS THE MID ATLANTIC...INCREASING PRESSURE
GRADIENT BETWEEN APPROACHING SYSTEM AND HIGH PRESSURE OFF THE MID
ATLANTIC WILL PROVIDE FOR SLY WINDS TO BE GREATER THAN PREVIOUS
DAYS. HOWEVER...MIN RH READINGS WILL LIKELY BE AT OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE
CRITICAL LEVELS AS LOW LEVEL MOISTURE RETURN WILL PRECLUDE ANY
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT. OVER THE WEST...A STRONG UPPER TROUGH
WILL CONTINUE TO AMPLIFY AS IT DIGS INTO THE SWRN STATES.

...ERN OK...NRN AR/SRN MO AND SRN IL...
STRONG SWLY WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY A DRYLINE PASSAGE ACROSS THE MID MS
VALLEY THROUGH THE PERIOD. AS THE MID LEVEL DRY SLOT MOVES NEWD
ACROSS THE AREA...STEEP LOW-MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES WILL AID IN
MOMENTUM TRANSFER OF STRONG MID LEVEL WIND FIELDS. SUSTAINED WINDS
FROM 20 TO 30 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS WILL OCCUR FROM EARLY MORNING
THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. ALONG WITH THE WINDS...TEMPERATURES IN THE
60S ALONG WITH DEWPOINTS IN THE 30S WILL AID IN MIN RH READINGS FROM
25 TO 35 PERCENT. WETTING RAINS OVER THE AREA EARLY THIS
MORNING/YESTERDAY WILL BE ENOUGH TO PRECLUDE ANY CRITICAL FIRE
   WEATHER CONCERNS.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0357 AM CST MON MAR 01 2004

   VALID 021200Z - 031200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AN UPPER TROUGH WILL CONTINUE TO DIG AND INTENSIFY OVER THE SWRN
STATES THROUGH THE PERIOD. AHEAD OF THIS TROUGH...FAIRLY MERIDIONAL
FLOW AT MID LEVELS...AND PRESSURE FALLS OVER THE SRN ROCKIES WILL
AID IN MOISTURE RETURN INTO THE SRN HIGH PLAINS. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR
RH READINGS 10 TO 20 PERCENT HIGHER THAN VALUES ON DAY ONE OVER
THIS AREA. OVER THE SRN ROCKIES...SUSTAINED SWLY WINDS ARE FORECAST
TO BE AOB 20 MPH WITH MIN RH READINGS ABOVE 20 PERCENT DUE TO
COPIOUS MID/HIGH CLOUD COVER AND RELATIVELY WEAK MID LEVEL WINDS. AS
THE UPPER TROUGH MOVES INTO AZ/NWRN MX BY THE END OF THE
PERIOD...SCATTERED PRECIPITATION WILL OCCUR FROM AZ INTO THE SRN
   PLAINS.
