   VALID 091200Z - 101200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NRN FL / SRN GA / SERN AL...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
MAIN FEATURE THIS PERIOD WILL BE A STRONG UPPER TROUGH OVER THE ERN
U.S...WHICH WILL MOVE TO THE E. COAST BY 12Z WED. AT THE
SURFACE...LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP AND MOVE SEWD OVER GA AND
SC...BRINGING A CHANCE OF AFTERNOON STORMS. SURFACE GRADIENTS ALONG
WITH DRY AIR ALREADY IN PLACE WILL CAUSE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS FROM SERN AL INTO FL. FURTHER W...HIGH PRESSURE WILL
EXIST OVER THE MID AND LOWER MS VALLEY REGION...WHERE RH LEVELS WILL
BE LOW. MDT NLY WINDS WILL BE FOUND OVER ERN OK / NERN TX. HIGH
PRESSURE WILL BUILD OVER THE NRN ROCKIES AND PACIFIC NW
AREA...UNDERNEATH A WEAK UPPER SHORTWAVE TROUGH.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA 1 - NRN FL / SRN GA / SERN AL...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: LOW RH / GUSTY WLY WINDS

A DRY AIR MASS IN PLACE THIS MORNING ALONG WITH STRENGTHENING WINDS
AND SUNSHINE WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY. AS
LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPS AND MOVES SEWD OVER GA...SURFACE PRESSURE
GRADIENT WILL INCREASE...AND WILL CAUSE WLY WINDS TO INCREASE FROM
15-20 MPH. WINDS WILL BECOME GUSTY DURING THE AFTERNOON WITH SPEEDS
IN EXCESS OF 20 MPH. MIN RH VALUES WILL BE LOWEST OVER INTERIOR N
FL...WITH VALUES NEAR 25 PERCENT THIS AFTERNOON. COOLER
TEMPERATURES WILL EXIST TO THE N...BUT INDICATIONS ARE THAT MIN RH
LEVELS AROUND 30 PERCENT WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER EXTREME SRN GA ALONG
WITH GUSTY WINDS. DUE TO STRONG SUNSHINE AND MIXING...LOW LEVEL
LAPSE RATES WILL BE STEEP...CAUSING AN UNSTABLE LOWER ATMOSPHERE.
CLOUDS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WITH LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS WILL FORM TO
THE N OF THE CRITICAL AREA...AND WILL REMAIN N GENERALLY N OF THE
   FL/GA BORDER.

...SERN OK / NERN TX / WRN AR AND LA...
AS UPPER TROUGH MOVES AWAY FROM THE AREA...NWLY WINDS BEHIND THE
SYSTEM WILL HELP DRIVE DRY AIR SWD. WITH THE AID OF AMPLE
SUNSHINE...TEMPERATURES WILL RISE WELL INTO THE 60S F. RH LEVELS
WILL RANGE FROM 20-30 PERCENT DURING THE AFTERNOON. SUSTAINED NLY
WILL AVERAGE 15-20 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS OF 20-30 MPH. RECENT
PRECIPITATION WILL HELP MITIGATE FIRE WEATHER THREAT HOWEVER.
