   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0310 AM CDT TUE APR 06 2004

   VALID 061200Z - 071200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AN UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE FROM THE GREAT LAKES SEWD TO THE NEW
ENGLAND COAST THROUGH THE PERIOD. SWLY WINDS WILL INCREASE OVER THE
OHIO VALLEY/CNTRL APPALACHIANS AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM. HOWEVER...MIN
RH READINGS ARE NOT ANTICIPATED TO REACH CRITICAL LEVELS. FARTHER
SE...WHERE RH READINGS ARE ANTICIPATED TO BE VERY LOW /15 TO 25
PERCENT/ FROM FL NEWD INTO SRN VA...SWLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
BELOW 15 MPH. ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE SEWD ACROSS THE NRN ROCKIES
AND AID IN INCREASING SLY WINDS OVER THE NRN HIGH PLAINS. MUCH DRIER
WEATHER AND WARMING TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR BEHIND ANOTHER UPPER
LOW/TROUGH MOVING THROUGH THE SRN PLAINS.

   ..INTERIOR FL...GA/CAROLINAS AND VA...
DESPITE A VERY DRY AIRMASS CONTINUING OVER THE REGION WITH MIN RH
READINGS FROM 15 TO 25 PERCENT...SUSTAINED WSWLY WINDS SHOULD ONLY
RANGE FROM 10 TO 15 MPH AS LOW LEVEL PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL REMAIN
WEAK AND STRONGER LOW-MID LEVEL WINDS REMAIN WEST OF THE AREA.

   ...NRN HIGH PLAINS...
SLY WINDS WILL INCREASE TO AROUND 20 MPH DURING THE AFTERNOON EAST
OF A SFC LEE TROUGH AND AHEAD OF A MID LEVEL SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVING
THROUGH THE NRN ROCKIES. DRY AIR IN PROXIMITY TO A SFC HIGH PRESSURE
CENTER OVER THE ERN DAKOTAS WILL ALLOW FOR MIN RH READINGS TO FALL
   TO AROUND 25 PERCENT.

   ...MN/WI...
BEHIND A COLD FRONT...NWLY WINDS WILL AVERAGE BETWEEN 15 AND 20 MPH.
A DRY AIRMASS WILL EXIST WITH MIN RH READINGS FROM 25 TO 30 PERCENT
GIVEN TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S AND DEWPOINTS IN THE 20S/30S. DESPITE
HIGH FIRE DANGERS IN THE AREA...MARGINAL SUSTAINED WINDS WILL
PRECLUDE A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT.

   ...OHIO VALLEY/CNTRL APPALACHIANS...
SUSTAINED WSWLY WINDS FROM 15 TO 20 MPH WILL DEVELOP DURING THE
MORNING AHEAD OF A SEWD MOVING COLD FRONT. ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES
WILL RANGE FROM THE 60S TO LOWER 70S...MIN RH READINGS ARE ONLY
ANTICIPATED TO FALL TO AROUND 35 PERCENT DUE TO INCREASING LOW LEVEL
MOISTURE AHEAD OF THE FRONT. THUS A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT IS
   NOT ANTICIPATED.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0312 AM CDT TUE APR 06 2004

   VALID 071200Z - 081200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A BROAD UPPER TROUGH WILL TAKE SHAPE OVER THE ERN HALF OF THE
NATION...AS SEVERAL WEAKER SHORTWAVE TROUGHS MOVE FROM THE PLAINS
EWD TOWARDS THE EAST COAST THROUGH THE PERIOD. AHEAD OF ONE OF THESE
SHORTWAVE TROUGHS...WINDS WILL INCREASE OVER THE MID ATLANTIC
/CAROLINAS. ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE SEWD ACROSS THE NRN PLAINS AND
AID IN MODERATE NLY WINDS BEHIND A WEAK COLD FRONT. LIGHT-MODERATE
PRECIPITATION CAN BE EXPECTED OVER MUCH OF THE SERN STATES AHEAD OF
A WEAKENING UPPER TROUGH COMING OUT OF THE SRN PLAINS.

   ...CAROLINAS AND VA...
A SURFACE LEE TROUGH WILL MOVE SEWD THROUGH WRN/NRN VA DURING THE
DAY. AHEAD OF THIS TROUGH...LOW LEVEL MOISTURE WILL INCREASE WITH
DEWPOINTS IN THE 40S LIKELY AS FAR NORTH AS SCENTRAL/SERN VA. WARM
TEMPERATURES IN THE 70S WILL PRODUCE LOW RH READINGS FROM 30-35
PERCENT DURING THE AFTERNOON. BEHIND THE LEE TROUGH...NWLY WINDS
WILL AID IN DOWNSLOPE CONDITIONS. THIS WILL AID IN LOWER MIN RH
READINGS FROM 20 TO 25 PERCENT OVER WRN/CENTRAL VA. LACK OF WINDS
GREATER THAN 15 MPH OVER THIS AREA WILL PRECLUDE A CRITICAL FIRE
   WEATHER THREAT.

   ...NRN PLAINS...
NLY WINDS AROUND 20 MPH WILL DEVELOP IN THE WAKE OF ANOTHER WEAK
COLD FRONT. THIS FRONT WILL MOVE SWD TO A NEB/WRN WI BY THE LATE
AFTERNOON. MILD TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S ALONG WITH DEWPOINTS IN THE
20S/30S WILL PRODUCE MIN RH READINGS AROUND 25 PERCENT.
HOWEVER...LACK OF LOWER RH READINGS WILL PRECLUDE A CRITICAL FIRE
   WEATHER THREAT.
