...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NORTHERN FLORIDA...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT EXTENDS FROM THE SRN ROCKIES TO THE GREAT LAKES
REGION...KEEPING THE WESTERLIES CONFINED TO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
AND NRN INTERIOR. A SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE THROUGH THE NRN
PLAINS TODAY AND ANOTHER SYSTEM APPROACHES THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
COAST TONIGHT. OFFSHORE FLOW DEVELOPS OVER SRN CA AS A WEAK UPPER
LOW OVER THE ERN PACIFIC REPOSITIONS ITSELF OVER SRN CA.
MEANWHILE...MOST OF THE SOUTHEAST IS UNDER A DRY PATTERN WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF THE CAROLINA COASTAL PLAIN TO THE EAST COAST OF FL
WHICH REMAINS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A SLOW MOVING UPPER LOW OVER
   THE WESTERN ATLANTIC.

THE SURFACE PATTERN IS LARGELY DOMINATED BY HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED
OVER NEW ENGLAND WITH A RELATIVELY DRY NORTHERLY FLOW COVERING THE
EASTERN THIRD OF THE NATION. HIGH PRESSURE IS ALSO BUILDING INTO
THE NRN ROCKIES AS LOW PRESSURE MOVES FROM SASKATCHEWAN TOWARD
CENTRAL CANADA. GUSTY NORTH/NORTHEAST WINDS ARE EXPECTED FROM VA TO
FL TODAY....WITH STRONG WEST WINDS OVER PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN
   PLAINS.

PRECIPITATION THIS PERIOD WILL EXTEND FROM THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
INTO THE NRN ROCKIES...ALONG THE COASTAL PLAIN OF THE SOUTHEAST...
AND NEAR A FRONTAL BOUNDARY EXTENDING FROM THE MIDWEST TOWARD THE
   SRN ROCKIES.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA 1 - NRN FL...

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: BREEZY AND DRY

CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS DEVELOP OVER PORTIONS OF NRN FL
THIS AFTERNOON...WITH NEAR-CRITICAL CONDITIONS FROM INLAND SC
THROUGH GA THIS AFTERNOON. DRY NORTHEAST FLOW COVERS THE AREA WITH
SUFFICIENT PRESSURE GRADIENTS TO GENERATE NORTHEAST WINDS OF 15 TO
25 MPH /AND HIGHER GUSTS/ THIS AFTERNOON. AS TEMPERATURES CLIMB
INTO THE UPPER 60S AND 70S IN THE REGION...RH FALLS TO BETWEEN 30 TO
35 PERCENT FOR SEVERAL HOURS THIS AFTERNOON. THE CRITICAL AREA
DELINEATES THE LOCATION WHERE EXPECTED RH MINIMUMS MAY DIP TO
BETWEEN 25 AND 30 PERCENT...WELL WITHIN CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CRITERIA GIVEN THE GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS EXPECTED TODAY.

   ...NRN ND...
STRONG WEST WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AS
TEMPERATURES CLIMB INTO THE MIDDLE 50S TO LOWER 60S. THE
POSTFRONTAL AIRMASS OVER THE NRN PLAINS IS QUITE DRY WITH MINIMUM RH
ANTICIPATED BETWEEN 15 AND 20 PERCENT. NEAR-CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE THEREFORE EXPECTED OVER THE NRN HALF OF ND THIS
AFTERNOON...RAPIDLY ENDING AFTER 00 UTC AS WINDS SUBSIDE AND RH
   RECOVERS RAPIDLY.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NORTHERN FLORIDA...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER LEVEL FLOW OVER THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE NATION BECOMES MORE
ZONAL SATURDAY AS A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE EASTERN U.S.
WEAKENS. A SERIES OF SHORTWAVES MAINTAIN THE WET PATTERN OVER THE
PACIFIC NORTHWEST...WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED FROM THE
SRN ROCKIES TO THE CENTRAL PLAINS. STRONG SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE
PERSISTS OVER THE EASTERN THIRD OF THE NATION...MAINTAINING A
RELATIVELY DRY AND BREEZY NORTHERLY FLOW IN THE SOUTHEAST.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA 1 - NRN FL...

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: BREEZY AND DRY

GUSTY NORTH/NORTHEAST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH PERSIST OVER NRN FL

LOWER 70S. RH VALUES OVER THE CRITICAL AREA FALL TO AROUND 25
PERCENT FOR SEVERAL HOURS SATURDAY AFTERNOON...AGAIN MEETING
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CRITERIA FOR PORTIONS OF NRN FL SATURDAY.

   ...INLAND NC/INLAND SC/GA...
TEMPERATURES MAINLY IN THE 70S WITH AFTERNOON RH BETWEEN 20 AND 30
PERCENT ARE EXPECTED FROM THE INLAND CAROLINAS THROUGH GA SATURDAY
