   VALID 281200Z - 291200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SE NV/SRN UT AND NW/WCNTRL AZ...
...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR FOR ISOLATED TO SCATTERED DRY
THUNDERSTORMS FOR ERN NV/WRN UT/NW AZ...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
BROAD UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN CENTERED OVER THE SOUTH CENTRAL STATES
INTO WEDNESDAY. ON THE PERIPHERY OF THIS RIDGE...SCATTERED
SHOWERS/TSTMS WILL BE COMMON THROUGH THE PERIOD ACROSS THE NRN/CNTRL
ROCKIES...NORTHERN PLAINS/UPPER MIDWEST...AND MUCH OF THE ERN THIRD
OF THE COUNTRY. IN THE WEST...UPPER LOW ALONG THE SRN CA COAST EARLY
THIS MORNING WILL TRANSITION NEWD THROUGH THE DAY...REACHING THE
CNTRL/SRN ROCKIES EARLY WEDNESDAY. STRONG MID LEVEL WINDS ASSOCIATED
WITH THE FEATURE WILL OVERSPREAD THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER VALLEY/SRN
GREAT BASIN TODAY...FURTHER COMPLICATING AN ALREADY HEIGHTENED FIRE
   DANGER OVER THE REGION.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA 1 - SE NV/SRN UT AND NW/WCNTRL AZ...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: GUSTY WINDS...HOT TEMPERATURES...LOW RH
   VALUES...ISOLD DRY LIGHTNING STRIKES

COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS...HOT TEMPERATURES...AND PROLONGED LOW RH
VALUES OF 10-15 PERCENT WILL PERSIST ACROSS MUCH OF SE NV/SW UT INTO
NW/WCNTRL AZ TODAY. AS MID LEVEL JET OVERSPREADS THE REGION...SWLY
SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 MPH /WITH CONSIDERABLY HIGHER GUSTS/ WILL
EXIST THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AMIDST A DEEPLY MIXED BOUNDARY LAYER. AT
LEAST ISOLD DRY THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OVER THE REGION THROUGH
THE AFTERNOON...WHICH WILL POTENTIALLY LEAD TO NEW FIRE STARTS AND
   ERRATIC DOWNBURST WINDS.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA 2 - ERN NV/WRN UT/NW AZ...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: ISOLATED TO SCATTERED DRY THUNDERSTORMS

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED DRY THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON FROM ERN NV/NW AZ INTO WRN UT. COMBINATION OF DRY
LIGHTNING AND HIGH LIGHTNING IGNITION EFFICIENCIES WILL LIKELY
CONTRIBUTE TO ADDITIONAL FIRE STARTS TODAY. RELATIVELY QUICK
MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS TO THE NORTHEAST WILL TEND TO LIMIT RAINFALL
ACCUMULATIONS. ASIDE FROM THE POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL FIRE
IGNITIONS...DEEPLY MIXED BOUNDARY LAYER WILL LEAD TO DOWNBURSTS AND
ASSOCIATED GUSTY/ERRATIC WINDS...WHICH WILL FURTHER ADVERSELY IMPACT
   ONGOING WILDFIRES.

   ...SRN WY/ERN UT/WRN CO...
GUSTY W/SW WINDS ARE EXPECTED ALONG A COLD FRONT FROM SRN WY/NE UT
INTO WRN CO. ALONG/AHEAD OF THE FRONT...RELATIVELY WELL-MIXED
BOUNDARY LAYER AND STRONG LOW TO MID LEVEL WIND FIELD WILL LEAD TO
SUSTAINED SWLY WINDS OF 20-25 MPH...WITH POTENTIAL FOR GUSTS TO
30-40 MPH /ESPECIALLY ACROSS WY/. IN SPITE OF THE GUSTY
WINDS...CLOUD COVER AND MARGINAL RH VALUES AROUND 15 PERCENT WILL
TEND TO SOMEWHAT LIMIT THE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT.
ADDITIONALLY...POTENTIAL WILL EXIST FOR ISOLD DRY TSTMS ACROSS ERN
   UT/WRN CO.

   ...NM...
OWING TO SUFFICIENT LIFT/INSTABILITY AND MARGINAL MOISTURE
PROFILES...ISOLD DRY TSTMS AND DOWNBURSTS WILL BE POSSIBLE
TODAY...NAMELY ACROSS WRN/CNTRL PORTIONS OF NM.

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
OVERALL PATTERN ON WEDNESDAY HIGHLIGHTED BY POTENT UPPER TROUGH
TRANSITIONING EWD ACROSS THE NRN PLAINS/UPPER MIDWEST. IN THE WAKE

CO/NW NM. IN SPITE OF THE LIGHTER BROAD SCALE WINDS...HOT/WELL-MIXED
BOUNDARY LAYER WITH LOW RH VALUES WILL NEVERTHELESS IMPACT ANY
ONGOING FIRES WITH ENHANCED FIRE GROWTH POTENTIAL.

   ...SRN/ERN KS AND NRN OK...
SW WINDS /SUSTAINED 15-20 MPH/ ARE EXPECTED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
ACROSS SRN/ERN KS AND NRN OK AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. IN SPITE OF

MOISTURE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO RH VALUES SUFFICIENTLY ABOVE CRITICAL
   THRESHOLDS.
