   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0149 AM CDT TUE JUL 12 2005

   VALID 121200Z - 131200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
LARGE UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN OVER THE WRN U.S...WITH VERY HOT AND
DRY WEATHER. WIND SPEEDS WILL BE MAINLY TERRAIN DRIVEN...EXCEPT
ACROSS WA / NRN ID / WRN MT...WHERE A COOL FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH
CAUSING GUSTY WLY WINDS. ISOLATED DRY THUNDERSTORMS MAY OCCUR OVER
PORTIONS OF WRN NM AND ERN AZ...AS MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY BEGIN TO
INCREASE ON SRN FRINGE OF UPPER HIGH.

   ...WRN NM / ERN AZ...
IT WILL ONCE AGAIN BE VERY HOT AND DRY...WITH MIN RH VALUES INTO THE
SINGLE DIGITS BY AFTERNOON. VERY STEEP LAPSE RATES REMAIN IN PLACE
WHICH WILL MEAN A MDT TO HIGH HAINES INDEX BY AFTERNOON. AFTERNOON
WIND GUSTS WILL BE MOSTLY TERRAIN DRIVEN.

WEAK ELY LOW LEVEL FLOW WILL BRING INCREASING MOISTURE INTO THE
REGION...AND BY AFTERNOON ISOLATED DRY THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE LIKELY
OVER THE HIGH TERRAIN OF WRN NM...POSSIBLY INTO ERN AZ NEAR THE
WHITE MTNS. GIVEN DRY FUELS AND EXTREMELY HIGH ERC VALUES...ANY
LIGHTNING STRIKES MAY CAUSE FIRE STARTS.

...WA / NRN ID / WRN MT...
STRONG UPPER TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED JET MAX WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA
TODAY...HELPING TO BRING A WEAK PACIFIC FRONT ACROSS WA AND INTO NRN
ID / WRN MT BY AFTERNOON. WINDS WILL SHIFT TO WLY AND AVERAGE 10-20
MPH...WHILE RH DIPS INTO THE 20 PERCENT RANGE. RH RECOVERY WILL BE
VERY GOOD MOST PLACES OVERNIGHT WITH COOL TEMPERATURES.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0151 AM CDT TUE JUL 12 2005

   VALID 131200Z - 141200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER RIDGE WILL FLATTEN ACROSS THE NRN ROCKIES...AS PROGRESSIVE
UPPER TROUGH MOVES ACROSS THE NRN TIER OF STATES. THIS WILL BRING A
COLD FRONT INTO CENTRAL MT WITH THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY...AND SHIFT A
PLUME OF HOT AND DRY AIR EWD INTO THE NRN PLAINS AHEAD OF THIS
FRONT. FARTHER S...VERY HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL OVER
THE SWRN DESERTS AND GREAT BASIN WITH A HIGH HAINES INDEX
PRACTICALLY EVERYWHERE. MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE ACROSS
NM AND INTO ERN AZ...WITH A MIXTURE OF WET AND DRY STORMS OVER THE
   HIGH TERRAIN.

   ...ERN AZ / WRN NM...
ALTHOUGH PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES WILL INCREASE INTO THE
0.50"-0.75" RANGE...THIS MOISTURE WILL BE MIXED THROUGH A VERY DEEP
LAYER WITH HOT TEMPERATURES AT THE SURFACE. THUS...LITTLE RAIN WILL
OCCUR. SOME STORMS WILL LIKELY BE DRY WITH VERY GUSTY
WINDS...ESPECIALLY ON THE WRN FRINGE OF WHERE STORMS DEVELOP. GIVEN
EXTREMELY HIGH ERC VALUES...STARTS STILL MAY OCCUR GIVEN ABSENCE OF
   HEAVY RAINS.

   ...CENTRAL MT / NWRN WY...
NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR ON WED AFTERNOON...IN ASSOCIATION
WITH A COLD FRONT THAT WILL BE DRAPED ACROSS CENTRAL MT INTO NWRN
WY. STORMS MAY BE DRY AT FIRST GIVEN EXPECTED HOT TEMPERATURES AND
RH VALUES OF 15-20 PERCENT...BUT WILL QUICKLY EVOLVE INTO LINES OR
CLUSTERS OF STORMS WITH SOME PRECIPITATION AND VERY STRONG WINDS.
