   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0327 AM CDT SAT AUG 06 2005

   VALID 061200Z - 071200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER RIDGE OVER THE WEST WILL REMAIN IN PLACE THROUGH THE PERIOD.
MONSOONAL MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO BE WIDESPREAD OVER THE SWRN
STATES...WHILE EXTENDING NWD AROUND THE UPPER RIDGE INTO THE NRN
GREAT BASIN/ROCKIES. ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL EXIST OVER MUCH
OF THE WEST OUTSIDE OF THE DEEPER LOW LEVEL MOISTURE IN THE SWRN
STATES. ISOLATED DRY TSTMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ON THE NRN FRINGES OF
THE DEEPER MID LEVEL MOISTURE EXTENDING FROM THE NRN GREAT BASIN
INTO THE NRN ROCKIES. ALTHOUGH MIN RH READINGS WILL BE AOB 15
PERCENT OVER PORTIONS OF INTERIOR CA...AND THE INTERIOR PAC NW/NRN
ROCKIES...SUSTAINED WINDS WILL BE LESS THAN 15 MPH PRECLUDING A
   CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT.

   ...NRN GREAT BASIN/NRN ROCKIES...
MONSOONAL MOISTURE FEED EVIDENT OVER THE WRN GREAT BASIN EARLY THIS
MORNING WILL INTERACT WITH VERY WARM TEMPERATURES/LOW RH READINGS IN
THE BOUNDARY LAYER TO SUPPORT ISOLATED DRY TSTMS THIS AFTERNOON OVER
ERN ORE...SRN/CENTRAL ID AND SRN MT/NRN WY. GIVEN LACK OF A STRONGER
FORCING MECHANISM AT MID LEVELS...AND RELATIVELY HIGH PWAT VALUES
EVEN WHERE TEMPERATURES WILL BE AOA 100 DEG F...A CRITICAL FIRE
   WEATHER THREAT IS NOT APPARENT.

   ...INTERIOR VALLEYS OF CA...
VERY WARM TEMPERATURES FROM 100-110 DEG IN THE INTERIOR VALLEYS OF
CA WITH RH READINGS FROM 15-20 PERCENT WILL OCCUR AGAIN TODAY.
AFTERNOON WLY WINDS MAY INCREASE IN FAVORED TERRAIN AREAS TO 15 MPH
FOR A 1-3 HR PERIOD DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON HRS. LACK OF A LONGER
DURATION AND STRONGER WINDS WILL PRECLUDE A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
   THREAT.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0330 AM CDT SAT AUG 06 2005

   VALID 071200Z - 081200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
THE UPPER RIDGE WILL BEGIN TO BREAKDOWN OVER THE NRN ROCKIES AS A
SHORTWAVE DIGS SEWD ACROSS WRN CANADA AND THE CANADIAN BORDER DURING
THE PERIOD. INCREASING WLY SFC WINDS BEHIND A DEEPENING SFC LOW OVER
MANITOBA/NORTH DAKOTA MAY LEAD TO NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS OVER PORTIONS OF THE NRN HIGH PLAINS. IN ADDITION...
MONSOONAL MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO CIRCULATE AROUND THE UPPER RIDGE
AND SUPPORT ISOLATED DRY TSTMS OVER THE NRN ROCKIES/NRN GREAT BASIN.
ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN LIKELY OVER MUCH OF THE REST
OF THE GREAT BASIN/INTERIOR PAC NW AND CA. HOWEVER IN THESE
AREAS...SUSTAINED WINDS WILL REMAIN AOB 15 MPH PRECLUDING A CRITICAL
   FIRE WEATHER THREAT.

   ...NRN HIGH PLAINS...
SUSTAINED WLY WINDS FROM 15-20 MPH ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP DURING
THE LATE MORNING...LASTING WELL INTO THE EVENING BEHIND A LEE TROUGH
THAT WILL MOVE INTO THE WRN DAKOTAS. VERY WARM TEMPERATURES WITH
READINGS IN THE 90S/LOWER 100S WILL BE LIKELY AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT
MOVING SWD THROUGH CANADA. WITH CONTINENTAL AIRMASS IN THE WAKE OF
THE LEE TROUGH...MIN RH READINGS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 10-15
PERCENT. ATTM...STRONGEST SFC PRESSURE FALLS/MID LEVEL WIND FIELDS
ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN SRN CANADA THUS SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NOT
ANTICIPATED TO BE SUFFICIENTLY STRONG FOR A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
   THREAT.

   ...NRN ROCKIES/NRN GREAT BASIN...
SIMILAR TO DAY ONE...ISOLATED DRY TSTMS WILL BE LIKELY OVER THE AREA
DURING THE AFTERNOON/OVERNIGHT AS VERY WARM/DRY BOUNDARY LAYER
EXISTS ON NRN FRINGES OF MONSOONAL MID LEVEL MOISTURE. SLIGHTLY
GREATER COVERAGE OF DRY TSTMS IS EXPECTED DUE TO MINOR BREAKDOWN OF
UPPER RIDGE AND AFFECTS OF APPROACHING CANADIAN SHORTWAVE TROUGH
AIDING IN STRONGER MID LEVEL FLOW. AREA MAY NEED TO BE UPGRADED IN
   LATER OUTLOOKS.

   ...INTERIOR VALLEYS OF CA...
ANOTHER DAY OF VERY WARM TEMPERATURES /100-110 DEG F/ CAN BE
EXPECTED OVER INTERIOR VALLEYS OF CA. CONSEQUENT MIN RH READINGS
AWAY FROM THE COASTAL RANGES WILL AVERAGE AROUND 15 PERCENT.
SUSTAINED WINDS WILL AVERAGE LESS THAN 15 MPH DURING THE LOWEST RH
READINGS PRECLUDING A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT.
