   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0350 AM CST FRI NOV 25 2005

   VALID 261200Z - 271200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
LEAD SHORTWAVE TROUGH OVER THE TX HILL COUNTRY ON SATURDAY WILL MOVE
INTO THE GULF COAST STATES...WITH A POTENT MID/UPPER JET STREAK
DIVING INTO THE SOUTHWEST. SIGNIFICANT PATTERN CHANGE WILL BE
ONGOING...AS WRN UPPER RIDGE WEAKENS IN RESPONSE TO DIGGING UPPER
TROUGH FROM THE ERN PACIFIC. LARGE SCALE HEIGHT FALLS WILL FORCE
STRONG SFC CYCLOGENESIS ACROSS THE CNTRL PLAINS. THE INCREASING
PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL RESULT IN STRONG SFC WINDS...PARTICULARLY
ACROSS ERN NM INTO W TX AND THE TX PANHANDLE.

...ERN NM INTO FAR W/NW TX...
SFC WINDS WILL INCREASE INTO THE 15-25 MPH RANGE BY SATURDAY
AFTERNOON IN RESPONSE TO LEE TROUGH WHICH WILL SET UP DURING THE
DAY. IN ADDITION TEMPS IN THE LOW TO MID 70S AND MINIMUM RH VALUES
FALLING BELOW 20 PERCENT WILL INCREASE FIRE CONCERNS. MUCH OF THIS
REGION HAS HAD LITTLE OR NO RAIN OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS...AND CURED
FINE FUELS POSE A FIRE RISK. AREA MAY NEED TO BE UPGRADED IF
   WINDS/RH VALUES BECOME MORE FAVORABLE.
