   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0207 AM CST SUN DEC 18 2005

   VALID 191200Z - 201200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG UPPER RIDGE WILL BUILD OVER THE PACIFIC COAST STATES ON
MONDAY AHEAD OF A STRONG ERN PACIFIC TROUGH. THIS WILL ALLOW
TEMPERATURES TO WARM AND RH TO LOWER WITH OFFSHORE FLOW DEVELOPING
OVER SRN CA. TO THE EAST...HIGH PRESSURE CENTER WILL MOVE EWD INTO
THE MIDDLE MS VALLEY AND WILL CAUSE RH VALUES TO DECREASE ACROSS THE
   DEEP SOUTH.

   ...SRN CA...
BUILDING UPPER RIDGE ALOFT WILL ALLOW PRESSURES TO FALL ACROSS SRN
CA AND WILL CREATE AN INCREASED SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT WITH HIGH
PRESSURE OVER THE GREAT BASIN. THIS WILL RESULT IN OFFSHORE FLOW
ESPECIALLY NEAR THE COASTAL RANGE WHERE RH VALUES WILL LOWER INTO
THE 20-25 PERCENT RANGE. WIND SPEEDS WILL NOT BE PARTICULARLY STRONG
AND RH LEVELS WILL LIKELY REMAIN ABOVE CRITICAL LEVELS DESPITE SOME
LOCALLY GUSTY DOWNSLOPE WINDS IN THE FOOTHILLS.

   ...MS/AL/GA/SC/NRN FL...
TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOL DUE TO STRONG HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE AREA
BUT RH LEVELS WILL DROP DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS INTO THE 30-40
PERCENT RANGE. IN ADDITION...NLY WINDS NEAR 10 MPH WILL OCCUR.
THEREFORE...DRYING WILL BE ENHANCED IN THE AFTERNOON BUT IN WAKE OF
RECENT PRECIPITATION FIRE THREAT TO REMAIN LOW.
