...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR CNTRL AND ERN MT/WRN SD/NERN
   WY/FAR SW ND...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
EARLY MORNING WATER VAPOR LOOPS SHOW NEXT UPPER IMPULSE NOW ENTERING
WRN ALBERTA. THIS SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE NRN HIGH PLAINS BY THIS
AFTN...ACCOMPANIED BY A BAND OF 50-60 KT MID LEVEL WINDS. AT THE
SFC...LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE INTO SERN MT...WITH A COLD FRONT
SAGGING SWD INTO NRN WY THROUGH THE SNAKE RIVER VALLEY. STRONG
UPSLOPE WINDS WILL DEVELOP IN RESPONSE TO TIGHTENING PRESSURE
GRADIENT...WITH SUSTAINED VALUES INCREASING TO 15-25 MPH WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. IN ADDITION TO THE THREATS ASSOCIATED WITH THE WINDS...STRONG
TO SVR TSTMS WILL DEVELOP THIS AFTN ACROSS SE MT/NERN WY/WRN SD WITH
THE POTENTIAL FOR ISOLD DRY LIGHTNING STRIKES AND GUSTY DOWNBURST
   WINDS.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - CNTRL AND ERN MT/WRN SD/NERN WY/FAR
   SW ND...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED SFC WINDS 15-25 MPH/SCATTERED
   TSTMS/HIGH FIRE DANGER

HIGH TEMPS WILL RANGE FROM THE 70S IN THE MTNS TO MID/UPPER 80S
ACROSS ERN MT TO 90S ACROSS NERN WY/WRN SD. MOIST E/SELY UPSLOPE
FLOW WILL DEVELOP TODAY...WHICH WILL KEEP RH VALUES RELATIVELY HIGH
/ABOVE 25 PERCENT/ IN MANY LOCATIONS. BUT...IN PORTIONS OF NERN WY
AND IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS...RH VALUES WILL LIKELY BE LOWER. WINDS
WILL SHIFT TO NORTHEAST BEHIND FRONT...WHICH MAY POSE A HAZARD TO
   FIREFIGHTING OPERATIONS.

AN ADDITIONAL THREAT WILL BE ASSOCIATED WITH TSTMS...MAINLY IN THE
AFTN/EVENING ALTHOUGH ISOLD STORMS COULD OCCUR THIS MORNING.
SUPERCELLS WILL BE LIKELY GIVEN FAVORABLE DIRECTIONAL SHEAR.
ALTHOUGH MOST STORMS WILL EVENTUALLY CONTAIN WETTING
RAIN...INITIALLY STORMS WILL BE HIGH BASED WITH POTENTIAL FOR DRY
LIGHTNING. FORECAST SOUNDINGS SHOW INVERTED-V THERMODYNAMIC
STRUCTURES AND VERY LOW RH VALUES ESPECIALLY ACROSS PORTIONS OF NERN
WY/SCNTRL MT. STORMS WILL ORGANIZE BY TONIGHT INTO A LARGE COMPLEX
AND BRING RAIN TO MUCH OF SD AND NEB.

RECENT FIRE DANGER CLASS OBS CONTINUE TO SHOW HIGH TO EXTREME
VALUES...AND NUMEROUS WILDFIRES ARE ONGOING ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA.

   ...SRN/CNTRL PLAINS...
ANOTHER DAY OF RECORD-BREAKING HEAT IS EXPECTED TODAY WITH TEMPS
TOPPING OUT IN THE 100-110 RANGE. RH VALUES WILL GENERALLY VARY FROM
20-30 PERCENT...AND ALTHOUGH WINDS WILL NOT BE OVERLY STRONG...LONG
TERM DROUGHT CONDITIONS PERSIST. WINDS WILL SHIFT AS COLD FRONT
MOVES SLOWLY THROUGH KS...AND THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR ISOLD TSTMS
   DEVELOPING ALONG THE BOUNDARY.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0456 AM CDT THU JUL 20 2006

   VALID 211200Z - 221200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER LEVEL RIDGE WILL BECOME EXTREMELY AMPLIFIED BY FRIDAY...WITH
MUCH ABOVE NORMAL HEAT FOR THE NORTHWEST. MEANWHILE...FLOW WILL
BECOME MERIDIONAL ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST AS A SERIES OF UPPER
WAVES MOVE THROUGH THE MID MS AND OH VALLEY REGION. SFC COLD FRONT
WILL CONTINUE TO SLOWLY SAG SWD WITH WINDS SHIFTING TO NORTH ACROSS
KS/NW OK AND THE NRN TX PANHANDLE ON FRIDAY. NEAR CRITICAL
CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE DUE TO EXTREME HEAT AND LOW HUMIDITY.

   ...KS/TX PANHANDLE/OK...
MAX TEMPS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM THE 90S TO 110 WITH RH VALUES
BELOW 20 PERCENT. AS A WEAK FRONT SETTLES SWD ACROSS KS/OK ON
FRIDAY...WINDS WILL SHIFT TO N/NE. THE LAST FEW DAYS OF EXCESSIVE
HEAT COMBINED WITH ONGOING LONG TERM DROUGHT HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO
EXTREME FIRE DANGER. ISOLD TO SCATTERED TSTMS MAY DEVELOP NEAR THE
BOUNDARY...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR WILDFIRE IGNITIONS DUE TO
   LIGHTNING.
