   ID...
...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR DRY THUNDER ACROSS SWRN MT...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG UPPER TROUGH WILL DIG SEWD OUT OF CANADA AND INTO THE MT
TODAY...INCREASING WLY WIND SPEEDS. AN AREA OF MOISTURE WILL ALSO
MOVE NWD AROUND THE UPPER RIDGE INTO SWRN MT...CAUSING SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS...SOME DRY...WHICH WILL HAVE LIGHTNING AND GUSTY
WINDS. FARTHER E...SURFACE LOW WILL DEEPEN OVER THE WRN DAKOTAS AND
WILL CAUSE VERY STRONG SURFACE WINDS TO DEVELOP OVER MUCH OF THE
   AREA...WITH LOW RH.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - FAR NRN NEB...SD...SERN ND AND NWRN
   MN...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS AND LOW RH

WINDS WILL INCREASE QUICKLY BY MID MORNING WITH A STRONG PRESSURE
GRADIENT IN PLACE. SUSTAINED SLY WIND SPEEDS OF 20-25 MPH WITH GUSTS
OVER 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED OVER MUCH OF NRN NEB...MOST OF SD...AND
SERN ND INTO NWRN MN. RH LEVELS WILL GRADUALLY DECREASE WITH
HEATING...HOWEVER...SOME CLOUDS AND LIGHT PRECIPITATION OVER NERN SD
THIS MORNING WILL HAMPER HEATING FROM THERE EWD. THESE CLOUDS SHOULD
THIN DURING THE DAY...ALLOWING SOME HEATING. RH LEVELS WILL RANGE
FROM THE UPPER TEENS INTO WRN SD TO 25-30 PERCENT ERN DAKOTAS INTO
WRN MN. MOST OF THE AREA HAS REMAINED DRY...THUS AN ENHANCED FIRE
   THREAT.

LATE IN THE DAY...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP AND BRING
   RAIN...DECREASING FIRE THREAT.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - MUCH OF NRN AND WRN MT AND NRN ID...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS AND LOW RH

A STRONG UPPER JET WILL DIG SEWD INTO MT LATER TODAY. THE WLY FLOW
ALOFT WILL BE MIX DOWNWARD TO THE SURFACE...AND WILL CAUSE SUSTAINED
WLY WINDS NEAR 20 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS...ESPECIALLY IN THE ELEVATED
TERRAIN. RH LEVELS WILL BE NEAR 15 PERCENT IN GENERAL. LATE IN THE
EVENING...A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SWD THROUGH NRN MT...CAUSING
SHIFTING WINDS TO A NWLY DIRECTION...ALTHOUGH RH WILL INCREASE AS
   WELL.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - DRY THUNDER ACROSS SWRN MT...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SCATTERED DRY LIGHTNING AND GUSTY WINDS

AN AREA OF MOISTURE WILL SHIFT NWD INTO SWRN MT TODAY AND WILL
COMBINE WITH THE APPROACHING UPPER TROUGH AND UPSLOPE TO CAUSE
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS. GIVEN A VERY DRY LOW LEVEL AIR MASS...AND
STRONG WIND SHEAR ALOFT PRODUCING FAST STORM MOTIONS...MOST OF THESE
STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO BE DRY. IN ADDITION...SURFACE WINDS WILL
AVERAGE NEAR 15 MPH OUT OF THE WEST WITH HIGHER GUSTS...ENHANCING
   THREAT OF FIRE SPREAD.

   ...ERN WA...
NEAR CRITICAL CONDITIONS WILL DEVELOP TODAY DUE TO MODERATE WINDS
AND LOW RH. WHILE THE STRONG WIND FIELDS WILL REMAIN E OF THE
AREA...WLY WINDS OF 15 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS WILL BE LIKELY OVER ERN
WA WITH RH LEVELS DROPPING INTO THE TEENS. HAINES INDEX WILL BE
MDT...THUS...ANY ONGOING FIRES MAY FLARE UP BY LATE AFTERNOON.

   ...ERN MT AND WY...
WINDS WILL BE LESS IN THESE AREAS ALTHOUGH IT WILL VERY WARM AND
DRY. WIND SPEEDS NEAR 10-15 MPH WILL BE COMMON BY LATE IN THE
DAY...WITH RH LEVELS IN THE LOWER TEENS. IN ADDITION...HAINES INDEX
WILL BE MDT TO HIGH...THUS...ANY ONGOING FIRES WILL HAVE A GOOD
CHANCE OF FLARING UP DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON HOURS.
