   0405 AM CDT FRI AUG 25 2006

   VALID 251200Z - 261200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AS UPPER RIDGE PERSISTS ACROSS THE SOUTH CENTRAL/SOUTHEAST
STATES...PRIMARY FEATURE OF NOTE WILL BE THE UPPER TROUGH SHIFTING
SOUTHEAST OVER THE NORTHERN INTERMOUNTAIN WEST. THE SLOW
MOVING/MODEST NATURE OF THIS SYSTEM WILL FAVOR LIGHTER WIND
SPEEDS/DIMINISHED FIRE WEATHER POTENTIAL AS COMPARED TO EARLIER IN
THE WEEK ACROSS MUCH OF THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST/GREAT BASIN.

   ...SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN...
AS COLD FRONT MOVES SLOWLY SOUTH-SOUTHEAST ACROSS NV/UT...LOCALLY
BREEZY/DRY CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN ALONG/SOUTH OF THE FRONT THIS
AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN. SUSTAINED
WIND SPEEDS MAY REACH 15-20 MPH...WITH SOME GUSTS TO 30 MPH. WITH
RATHER WARM TEMPERATURES...AFTERNOON MINIMUM RH VALUES WILL BE
AROUND 7-12 PERCENT. A FEW DRY THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE POSSIBLE AS
WELL...ALTHOUGH ANY SUCH DEVELOPMENT SHOULD BE RATHER ISOLATED.

   ...NORTHERN CA/WESTERN ORE...
IN WAKE OF UPPER TROUGH...OFFSHORE GRADIENT WILL INCREASE ACROSS
PORTIONS OF NORTHERN CA/WESTERN ORE. THE OFFSHORE TRAJECTORIES WILL
RESULT IN LOCALLY BREEZY CONDITIONS TONIGHT FOR AREAS ALONG/WEST OF
THE SIERRAS/CASCADES...WITH LOW AFTERNOON RH VALUES AND POOR
   OVERNIGHT RECOVERIES.
