   VALID 031200Z - 041200Z

   CORRECTED FOR OUTLOOK POINTS

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER-LEVEL FEATURES WILL MOVE LITTLE TODAY...AS AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW
CENTERED OVER SERN SD SPINS SLOWLY SEWD INTO CNTRL IA TONIGHT. A
LARGE AREA OF UPPER-LEVEL RIDGING WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE NRN
ROCKIES...PROVIDING CONTINUED WARM AND VERY DRY CONDITIONS WITH
LIGHT WINDS. MODEST S/SWLY FLOW WILL HELP INCREASE MID-LEVEL
MOISTURE ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN AHEAD OF A WEAK UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH
OFF THE NRN CA COAST. A THERMAL LOW CENTERED OVER THE MOJAVE DESERT
WILL KEEP A MODERATE PRESSURE GRADIENT ACROSS THE NRN PORTION OF THE
   SRN COASTAL RANGE.

...NRN PORTION OF SRN CA COASTAL RANGE...
LOCALLY GUSTY N/NWLY WINDS DEVELOPED SATURDAY EVENING IN THE CANYONS
AND PASSES OF THE SRN CA COASTAL RANGE...N/NW OF LOS ANGELES. EARLY
MORNING RH VALUES WERE AROUND 20 TO 25 PERCENT. A MODERATE PRESSURE
GRADIENT WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE AREA...AS A THERMAL LOW STAYS
ANCHORED OVER THE MOJAVE DESERT. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES WILL BE
AROUND 100 DEGREES. THIS WILL SUPPORT MARGINALLY LOW RH VALUES
AROUND 15 TO 20 PERCENT. GUSTY N/NWLY WINDS WILL REDEVELOP LOCALLY
THIS EVENING...AND SHOULD APPROACH 30 MPH...SUPPORTING POOR RH
   RECOVERY TONIGHT.

...ERN NV/WRN UT NWWD INTO SERN ORE/FAR SWRN ID...
ISOLATED DRY TSTMS SHOULD DEVELOP IN THE LATE AFTERNOON...AS
MID-LEVEL MOISTURE SLOWLY INCREASES FROM THE S ATOP A VERY DRY
LOW-LEVEL AIR MASS. IR SATELLITE IMAGERY HAS SHOWN AN INCREASE IN
MID/UPPER-LEVEL CLOUDINESS OVER THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS. SUFFICIENT
DAYTIME HEATING SHOULD PROVIDE WEAK INSTABILITY AND LEAD TO ISOLATED
TSTMS...ESPECIALLY IN HIGHER TERRAIN LOCATIONS OF ERN NV/WRN UT.
STEEP LAPSE RATES AND THE AMBIENT DRYNESS IN THE LOW-LEVELS WILL
LEAD TO A VERY DEEP SUB-CLOUD LAYER WITH ANY CONVECTION THAT FORMS.
THIS WOULD SUPPORT GUSTY DOWNDRAFT WINDS.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0455 AM CDT SUN SEP 03 2006

   VALID 041200Z - 051200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
VERY LITTLE CHANGE WILL OCCUR IN THE OVERALL WEATHER PATTERN ACROSS
THE WRN AND CNTRL CONUS FROM DAY 1. A LARGE UPPER-LEVEL LOW WILL
AMPLIFY ACROSS THE MID-MS RIVER VALLEY...WITH AN
UPPER-LEVEL RIDGE ACROSS THE NRN ROCKIES. A WEAK MID-LEVEL TROUGH
OFF THE NRN CA COAST WILL HELP SLOWLY DRAW MOISTURE NWD IN THE ERN
GREAT BASIN. A SURFACE THERMAL LOW WILL REMAIN ANCHORED OVER THE
MOJAVE DESERT...WITH A MODERATE PRESSURE GRADIENT ALONG THE NRN
PORTION OF THE SRN CA COASTAL RANGE.

   ...ERN NV/NRN UT/SRN ID/FAR ERN ORE...
OROGRAPHIC LIFT AND DAYTIME HEATING WILL CONTRIBUTE TO DRY TSTM
DEVELOPMENT DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON...AS MID-LEVEL MOISTURE SLOWLY
INCREASES FROM THE S. RELATIVELY WARM UPPER-LEVEL TEMPERATURES
SHOULD LIMIT INSTABILITY AND COVERAGE TO ISOLATED/WIDELY SCATTERED
AT BEST. WITH CONTINUED DRYNESS IN THE LOW-LEVELS...A DEEP SUB-CLOUD
LAYER WILL LIKELY DEVELOP. GUSTY WINDS WOULD BE PRESENT IN ANY TSTMS
   THAT DO OCCUR.

...NRN PORTION OF THE SRN CA COASTAL RANGE...
A SIMILAR SETUP TO DAY 1 IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR ON MONDAY
EVENING...WITH A THERMAL LOW ACROSS THE MOJAVE DESERT AND A MODERATE
PRESSURE GRADIENT ACROSS THE SRN CA COASTAL RANGE. LOCALIZED WIND
GUSTS APPROACHING 30 MPH SHOULD STILL OCCUR IN CANYONS/PASSES.
HOWEVER...MODEL FORECASTS INDICATE A GRADUAL INCREASE IN
LOW/MID-LEVEL MOISTURE LEADING TO LOWER DAYTIME TEMPERATURES/HIGHER
   RH VALUES.
