   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0407 AM CDT SAT SEP 09 2006

   VALID 091200Z - 101200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AS UPPER TROUGH PIVOTS NORTHEASTWARD INTO CANADA...COLD FRONT ACROSS
THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WILL SHIFT EASTWARD ACROSS ID AND WESTERN MT
DURING THE DAY. RAIN/THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE
FRONT...WITH GUSTY WESTERLY WINDS AND MARGINAL RH VALUES DURING THE
AFTERNOON PORTIONS OF WA AND ORE. FARTHER SOUTH...DRIER AIR WILL
SPREAD INTO THE GREAT BASIN AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF THUNDERSTORMS.

   ...SOUTHERN CA AND CENTRAL/SOUTHERN NV...
THE AIRMASS WILL REMAIN DRY ACROSS SOUTHERN CA AND THE SOUTHERN
GREAT BASIN TODAY. AFTERNOON MINIMUM RH VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE
FROM THE SINGLE DIGITS IN THE SOUTHERN CA DESERTS/SOUTHERN NV TO
10-15 PERCENT ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF NV. WINDS WILL BE AROUND 15
MPH OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST...WITH LOCALLY STRONGER GUSTS VIA STRONG
   MIXING.

   ...CENTRAL/EASTERN WA AND ORE...
BREEZY WESTERLY FLOW WILL DEVELOP TODAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF WA/ORE IN
THE WAKE OF THE EXITING COLD FRONT. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF 15-20
MPH /WITH HIGHER GUSTS/ WILL BE PREVALENT ALONG AND EAST OF THE
WA/ORE CASCADES...AND THE COLUMBIA GORGE/COLUMBIA BASIN VICINITY. IN
SPITE OF THE GUSTY WINDS...COOLER TEMPERATURES/MARGINAL RH VALUES
WILL TEMPER THE POTENTIAL FOR CRITICAL CONDITIONS.

   ...EASTERN NV/FAR WESTERN UT...
ISOLATED MAINLY DRY THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS
PORTIONS OF THE EASTERN GREAT BASIN...MOSTLY LIKELY ACROSS FAR EAST
CENTRAL/NORTHEAST NV INTO WESTERN UT. MODEST INSTABILITY/DRY
SUB-CLOUD RH LEVELS WILL SUPPORT SOME MAINLY DRY
THUNDERSTORMS...ALTHOUGH THIS ACTIVITY SHOULD BE RATHER
   ISOLATED/MARGINAL IN NATURE.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0448 AM CDT SAT SEP 09 2006

   VALID 101200Z - 111200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
WEAK UPPER TROUGH APPEARS LIKELY TO SHIFT EAST-SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE
PLAINS STATES ON SUNDAY. IN ITS WAKE...BROAD UPPER RIDGE WILL
STEADILY DEVELOP ACROSS THE WESTERN STATES...SIGNALING A QUICK
RETURN OF WARMER TEMPERATURES. ACROSS THE MAJORITY OF THE WESTERN
STATES...WEAK BROAD SCALE WINDS AND/OR SUFFICIENTLY HIGH RH VALUES
WILL PRECLUDE APPRECIABLE POTENTIAL FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS. ELSEWHERE...SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE COMMON ALONG A
FRONTAL BOUNDARY IN THE NATIONS MID SECTION...WHILE HIGH PRESSURE
BUILDS ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST AND NORTHEAST/MID ATLANTIC STATES.
