DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK RESENT 1
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0402 AM CDT FRI OCT 13 2006

   VALID 131200Z - 141200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
DEEP TROPOSPHERIC VORTEX WILL REMAIN ACROSS ONTARIO AND THE GREAT
LAKES REGION...BUT WILL BEGIN TO EJECT/MOVE EWD INTO SAT. SURFACE
HIGH PRESSURE ACROSS THE LOWER MS VALLEY WILL SHIFT SEWD ALONG THE
GULF COAST...ENHANCING FIRE THREAT WITH LOW RH AND A LITTLE WIND.
MEANWHILE...IT WILL REMAIN VERY WINDY ACROSS THE NRN PLAINS/UPPER MS
VALLEY ON WRN EDGE OF LOW...WITH INCREASED FIRE THREAT ACROSS SD/NEB
WHERE IT WILL BE DRY. OUT WEST...UPPER LOW WILL SHIFT EWD ACROSS SRN
CA/LOWER CO RIVER VALLEY WITH COOLER TEMPERATURES AND RAIN.

...MUCH OF GA/FAR ERN AL/WRN SC/NRN FL INCLUDING THE PANHANDLE...
CONDITIONS WILL BE NEAR CRITICAL ON THE LARGE SCALE TODAY AS A VERY
DRY AIR MASS REMAINS IN PLACE. MINIMUM RH VALUES OF 20-30 PERCENT
WILL BE COMMON...ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOLER THAN PREVIOUS
DAY...FROM THE 60S NRN GA TO THE UPPER 70S SRN GA/NRN FL. W/NWLY
WIND WILL AVERAGE NEAR 10 MPH...BUT SOME LOCATIONS ACROSS NERN GA
WILL SEE HIGHER GUSTS. MARGINAL WIND SPEEDS ALONG WITH LOW RH AND
KBDI VALUES OF 600-700 MAY ALLOW FOR INCREASED WILDFIRE ACTIVITY.

   ...SD INTO NEB...
SUSTAINED NWLY WINDS OF 20-30 MPH WILL OCCUR OVER MUCH OF SD...WITH
LESSER SPEEDS OF 15-20 MPH OVER CNTRL/SRN NEB. RH WILL DECREASE TO
NEAR 20 PERCENT AS TEMPERATURES WARM INTO THE 50S. THIS WILL
INCREASE FIRE DANGER...ESPECIALLY IN AREAS THAT HAVE RECEIVED
RELATIVELY LITTLE PRECIPITATION OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0437 AM CDT FRI OCT 13 2006

   VALID 141200Z - 151200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
LARGE AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL EXTEND FROM THE NRN PLAINS INTO THE
MS VALLEY AND ACROSS MUCH OF THE SERN STATES. IT WILL REMAIN DRY IN
THESE AREAS...WITH ENHANCED FIRE POTENTIAL ACROSS GA AND NRN FL. OUT
WEST...UPPER LOW WILL SHIFT EWD ACROSS THE DESERT SW...WHILE SLY
FLOW AHEAD OF THIS LOW BRING MOISTURE AND RAIN TO AZ/NM/W TX.

   ...SRN GA/NRN FL...
IT WILL BE VERY DRY TODAY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A LARGE SURFACE
HIGH. MIN RH VALUES OF 20-30 PERCENT WILL BE COMMON AS TEMPERATURES
RISE TO NEAR 80. NELY/ELY FLOW AROUND SRN EDGE OF HIGH MAY CAUSE
LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS OF 10-15 MPH ACROSS CNTRL AND NRN FL WHICH MAY
PRODUCE LOCALLY CRITICAL CONDITIONS AS FUELS REMAIN VERY DRY.
