   PLAINS TO THE SOUTHEAST/MID ATLANTIC STATES WILL KEEP A RATHER DRY
   AIRMASS ACROSS THIS BROAD REGION.

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: VERY LOW RH AND LOCALLY BREEZY CONDITIONS
   
   IN PRESENCE OF SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE...A VERY DRY AIRMASS WILL
   ENCOMPASS MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST STATES INTO NORTHERN FL TODAY.
   AFTERNOON RH VALUES WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER TEENS/LOWER 20 PERCENT
   RANGE ACROSS CENTRAL/SOUTHERN GA AND SOUTHERN AL...TO AROUND 30
   PERCENT ACROSS NORTHERN FL FOR A FEW HOURS DURATION. THE RELATIVELY
   STRONGEST WIND SPEEDS THIS AFTERNOON ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE FAR
   SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF AL/GA AND NORTHERN FL...WHERE NORTHEAST WINDS
   ARE LIKELY TO REACH 10-20 MPH.

   WITH HIGH PRESSURE TRANSITIONING EASTWARD ACROSS THE TENNESSEE
   VALLEY/SOUTHEAST STATES...AN INCREASING SOUTHERLY GRADIENT ACROSS
   THE SOUTH CENTRAL PLAINS WILL LEAD TO BREEZY CONDITIONS TODAY. WITH
   A DRY AIRMASS REMAINING IN PLACE ACROSS THE REGION...SUSTAINED
   SOUTH/SOUTHEAST WINDS SHOULD REACH 15-20 MPH DURING THE AFTERNOON
   HOURS...WITH GUSTS TO 25-30 MPH. OTHERWISE...TEMPERATURES WILL

   TROUGH DEVELOPS EAST OF THE ROCKIES WITH MODERATING TEMPERATURES IN

   HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED ALONG THE APPALACHIANS/MID ATLANTIC STATES
   WILL KEEP A VERY DRY AIRMASS IN PLACE ACROSS MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST
   STATES INTO NORTHERN FL. AFTERNOON MINIMUM RH VALUES APPEAR LIKELY
   TO DROP INTO THE 20-25 PERCENT RANGE ACROSS INTERIOR PORTIONS
   AL/GA/SC...WITH 30-35 PERCENT ACROSS NORTHERN FL. GIVEN THE
   WEAKENING PRESSURE GRADIENT ON THE SOUTHERN PERIPHERY OF THE SURFACE
   HIGH...EAST/NORTHEAST WINDS SHOULD BE SOMEWHAT LIGHTER ON
   SATURDAY...GENERALLY AROUND 10 MPH OR LESS.  NEVERTHELESS...PORTIONS
   OF THE REGION MAY REQUIRE A CRITICAL UPGRADE IN THE SUBSEQUENT DAY 1
   FIRE OUTLOOK...ESPECIALLY IF WIND SPEEDS APPEAR STRONGER THAN
   CURRENTLY FORECAST.
