   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0320 AM CST THU DEC 07 2006

   VALID 071200Z - 081200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SRN CA...
...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR CENTRAL/SERN AL INTO MUCH OF GA...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
PROGRESSIVE FLOW REGIME IS EXPECTED ACROSS NOAM TODAY AS A SHORT
WAVE TROUGH DIGS SEWD FROM THE WRN GREAT LAKES/MID MS VALLEY TO THE
MID ATLANTIC REGION...AMPLIFYING THE ERN LONG WAVE TROUGH AS IT
TRANSLATES EWD. MEANWHILE...WRN RIDGE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE EWD
TOWARD THE ROCKIES AS A PACIFIC TROUGH APPROACHES THE WEST COAST
   LATE DAY 1/EARLY DAY 2.

STRONG ARCTIC COLD FRONT...ACCOMPANYING DIGGING ERN U.S. SHORT WAVE
TROUGH...WILL MOVE SWD THROUGH TX AND THE SERN STATES...REACHING THE
WRN ATLANTIC WATERS AND SRN GULF OF MEXICO BY 12Z FRIDAY...AS A
STRONG SURFACE HIGH BUILDS SWD ACROSS THE PLAINS AND MS VALLEY.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN CA...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: LOW RH VALUES/INCREASING ELY WINDS LATE
   AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT

VERY LOW RH VALUES ARE EXPECTED AGAIN TODAY ACROSS SRN CA WITH
VALUES AT OR BELOW 10 PERCENT...AS THE UPPER RIDGE REMAINS OVER THIS
REGION ONE MORE DAY IN ADVANCE OF THE APPROACHING PACIFIC TROUGH.
MODELS CONTINUED TO INDICATE POTENTIAL FOR INCREASING ELY WINDS
AFTER 08/00Z...ESPECIALLY THROUGH AND BELOW PASSES AND CANYONS...AS
THE SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT OVER THIS REGION STRENGTHENS IN
RESPONSE TO HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING SWD INTO THE LOWER CO RIVER
VALLEY. LATEST OBSERVATIONS OF FIRE DANGER CLASS RANGING FROM VERY
HIGH TO EXTREME COMBINED WITH THE INCREASING WINDS FROM LATE
AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING...SUGGEST POTENTIAL WILL LIKELY EXIST FOR
   CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - CENTRAL/SERN AL INTO MUCH OF GA...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: INCREASING NWLY WINDS BY AFTERNOON/CRITICAL LOW
   RH VALUES

A DRY COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO MOVE SWD ACROSS AL/GA THIS
AFTERNOON...AND LIKELY REACH FAR SRN AL TO SRN GA BY EARLY EVENING
   /AROUND 08/00Z/. POST-FRONTAL WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15-25 MPH...
WHILE HUMIDITY VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT OR BELOW 30 PERCENT FROM
CENTRAL AL INTO MUCH OF GA...THUS CREATING POTENTIAL FOR CRITICAL
   FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0348 AM CST THU DEC 07 2006

   VALID 081200Z - 091200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
ERN PACIFIC TROUGH WILL MOVE ONSHORE ON FRIDAY...BRINGING AN END TO
THE OFFSHORE WINDS THAT HAVE AFFECTED SRN CA FOR THE PAST SEVERAL
DAYS. THIS SYSTEM WILL ALSO BE ASSOCIATED WITH PRECIPITATION MAINLY
ALONG THE COASTAL RANGES THROUGH THE SIERRA. SFC HIGH PRESSURE WILL
BUILD FROM SCNTRL TX THROUGH THE TN VALLEY...IN THE WAKE OF ANOTHER
ARCTIC INTRUSION ON THURSDAY. HUMIDITY VALUES WILL CONTINUE TO BE
LOW ACROSS MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST...WITH MODERATELY STRONG NLY WINDS
THROUGH THE DAY. CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED
DUE TO MUCH COOLER TEMPS ON FRIDAY.

   ...PORTIONS OF SRN GA/FL PANHANDLE...
MINIMUM RH VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO FALL BELOW 20-25 PERCENT ON
FRIDAY...AS TEMPS RISE INTO THE LOWER/MID 40S. THE WINDIEST
CONDITIONS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS SRN GA INTO THE FL PANHANDLE...WHERE
NLY WINDS OF 15-20 MPH ARE LIKELY. RECENT KBDI OBSERVATIONS SUGGEST
THE HIGHEST VALUES ARE LOCATED IN THE ERN FL PANHANDLE AND SERN GA.
MARGINALLY CRITICAL CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE ON FRIDAY IN THESE
   AREAS.
