   VALID 141200Z - 151200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AN UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE SWD ALONG THE WEST COAST THROUGH TODAY. IN
THE WAKE OF THE TROUGH...UNIDIRECTIONAL LOW-MID LEVEL FLOW AND
BUILDING SFC HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE GREAT BASIN WILL SUPPORT
INCREASING OFFSHORE WINDS OVER SRN CA. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE
EXPECTED TO OCCUR ON DAY 2. BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND LATE
ARRIVAL OF THE STRONGEST OFFSHORE WINDS WILL PRECLUDE CRITICAL FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS. A COLD FRONT EXTENDING FROM TX TO THE GREAT
LAKES WILL BE THE FOCUS FOR SCT PRECIPITATION. NO OTHER AREAS OF
FIRE WEATHER CONCERN WILL EXIST ACROSS THE NATION.

   ...SRN CA...
THE PASSAGE OF THE MID LEVEL SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVING SWD THROUGH THE
WEST COAST THIS MORNING WILL BE THE START OF A MODERATE SANTA ANA
EVENT OVER SRN CA LATER TONIGHT. OFFSHORE WINDS WILL INCREASE TO
BETWEEN 25-35 MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 50 MPH TOWARDS 12Z...ESPECIALLY IN
FAVORABLE TERRAIN AREAS. ALTHOUGH LOW DWPTS WILL SUPPORT MIN RH
READINGS AROUND 10 PERCENT...BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND LATE
DEVELOPMENT OF THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL PRECLUDE A CRITICAL FIRE
   WEATHER THREAT FOR THIS PERIOD.
