   LONGWAVE TROUGH BECOMES FIRMLY ESTABLISHED OVER THE CONUS. SURFACE
   HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE CENTERED ALONG THE SOUTHEAST ATLANTIC COAST
   THIS AFTERNOON...WITH MINIMUM RH FALLING TO AROUND 20 PERCENT FROM
   GA TO VA. HOWEVER...WINDS WILL BE LIGHT /AROUND 5 MPH/ AND
   TEMPERATURES MAINLY IN THE 40S ACROSS THE PIEDMONT. FARTHER
   WEST...ANOTHER SURFACE HIGH/SEASONABLY COOL AIRMASS PUSHES SWD INTO
   THE NRN/CNTRL ROCKIES AND WRN PLAINS.
   
   SCATTERED RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO SPREAD FROM THE
   SOUTHWEST INTO THE SRN PLAINS TODAY...REACHING THE CENTRAL
   APPALACHIANS AND SOUTHEAST LATE IN THE PERIOD. THE WINTER PATTERN
   AND COOL AIRMASS SUGGEST A MINIMAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT TODAY.

   GUSTY SOUTHWEST/WEST SURFACE WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH WILL EXTEND FROM
   ERN AZ TO SWRN TX...ALTHOUGH MINIMUM RH IS GENERALLY ABOVE 30
   PERCENT AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES ONLY IN THE 50S. OTHERWISE THE FIRE
   WEATHER THREAT IS MINIMAL ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
