   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0328 AM CST TUE MAR 06 2007

   VALID 061200Z - 071200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR PORTIONS OF THE SRN PLAINS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A BREAKDOWN OF THE UPPER RIDGE OVER THE SRN PLAINS WILL OCCUR TODAY.
THIS WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASE IN THE SFC WINDS OVER THE REGION.
COMBINED WITH DRY ANTECEDENT CONDITIONS AND EXPECTED LOW RH
READINGS...CRITICAL FIR WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL EXIST FROM SRN KS
INTO WRN/CENTRAL TX. ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE NATION...BROAD NW FLOW
WILL REINFORCE A LARGE AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE ERN STATES.
LOW RH READINGS WILL EXIST OVER MUCH OF THE SERN STATES...BUT
GENERALLY WEAK WINDS WILL PRECLUDE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN KS...MUCH OF OK...PORTIONS OF
   NRN/CENTRAL/WRN TX...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED SSWLY WINDS FROM 15-25 MPH...MIN RH
   READINGS FROM 10-20 PERCENT...DROUGHT CONDITIONS

AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING TROUGH...THE SFC PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL
INTENSIFY THROUGH THE PERIOD OVER OK/TX. THE RESULT WILL BE AN
INCREASE IN SLY WINDS OVER MUCH OF THE SRN PLAINS. TO THE SOUTH OF A
STATIONARY FRONT OVER CENTRAL KS...SSWLY WINDS WILL SUPPORT ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES IN THE 65-80 DEG F RANGE. A VERY DRY CONTINENTAL
AIRMASS WITH DEWPTS FROM 0-20 DEG F WILL BE WIDESPREAD OVER THE
REGION...SUPPORTING MIN RH READINGS FROM 10-20 PERCENT. COMBINED
WITH A LONG TERM DROUGHT OVER MUCH OF THE AREA AND SUSTAINED WINDS
FROM 15-20 MPH GUSTING OVER 25 MPH...A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT
IS EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF DIMINISHING WINDS AND RISING RH
READINGS AFTER SUNSET WILL LEAD TO AN END OF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
   CONDITIONS BY THAT TIME.

   ...SERN STATES...
A REINFORCING SHOT OF COOLER/DRIER AIR WILL MOVE SEWD INTO THE
MID-ATLANTIC/SERN STATES. AN ASSOCIATED LARGE AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE
WILL SUPPORT A GENERAL ENELY FLOW OVER THE REGION. SRN PORTIONS OF
THE AREA...SRN AL/GA AND FLA...WILL SEE MILDER TEMPERATURES AND RH
READINGS LESS THAN 30 PERCENT. GIVEN THE LACK OF SUSTAINED WINDS
OVER 15 MPH...A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA WILL NOT BE ISSUED.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0331 AM CST TUE MAR 06 2007

   VALID 071200Z - 081200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
DEEP UPPER TROUGH WILL RESIDE OVER ERN CANADA AND THE ERN SEABOARD
TOMORROW. AN ACTIVE SRN STREAM WILL SUPPORT SEVERAL LOW AMPLITUDE
SYSTEMS OVER THE SRN STATES. ASSOCIATED WITH ONE OF THESE SYSTEMS...
A WEAK COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SWD THROUGH PORTIONS OF OK/TX. TO THE
SOUTH OF THE FRONT...WARM TEMPERATURES AND LOW RH READINGS WILL
RESIDE OVER MUCH OF TX AND THE SWRN CONUS. HOWEVER LIGHTER WINDS
THAN TODAY WILL PRECLUDE ANY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT IN THIS
   REGION.

   ...SERN STATES...
SFC HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE OFF THE MID-ATLANTIC THROUGH THE PERIOD.
IN THE WAKE OF THIS HIGH PRESSURE...A SFC LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL
MOVE EWD INTO THE REGION TOMORROW AHEAD OF AN UPPER TROUGH MOVING
SEWD FROM THE GREAT LAKES. IN RESPONSE TO THE APPROACHING SFC
LOW...WINDS WILL TURN AROUND TO A SWLY DIRECTION. DRY AIR WILL
REMAIN IN PLACE LEADING TO ANOTHER DAY OF LOW RH READINGS FROM 25-35
PERCENT OVER MUCH OF AL/GA AND NRN FL. THE LACK OF SUSTAINED WINDS
OVER 10 MPH WILL AGAIN PRECLUDE A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
   AREA.
