   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR PORTIONS OF INTERIOR CENTRAL/SRN
   FL...
...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR PORTIONS OF THE SRN/WRN GREAT
   BASIN...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG UPPER TROUGH OVER THE ERN PACIFIC WILL DIG SEWD ALONG THE
WEST COAST THROUGH TONIGHT. THIS SYSTEM WILL SUPPORT INCREASING WIND
FIELDS OVER THE GREAT BASIN. THESE WINDS COMBINED WITH LOW RH
READINGS WILL LEAD TO CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS OVER THE
SRN/WRN GREAT BASIN. FURTHER EAST...AN UPPER LOW OVER NRN MX WILL
MOVE THROUGH TX...PROVIDING FOR A GENEROUS AMT OF RAINFALL OVER MUCH
OF SRN/CENTRAL TX. ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL AGAIN BE FOUND
OVER MUCH OF THE ERN HALF OF THE NATION UNDER THE PRESENCE OF UPPER
RIDGING. ALTHOUGH MOST OF THE REGION WILL SEE EITHER LIGHT WINDS
AND/OR HIGHER RH READINGS...MODEST NELY WINDS AND LOW RH READINGS
WILL SUPPORT ANOTHER DAY OF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS OVER
   INTERIOR SRN/CENTRAL FL.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - INTERIOR WESTERN PORTION OF
   SRN/CENTRAL FL...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED NELY WINDS AROUND 15 MPH WITH GUSTS TO
   20 MPH...MIN RH READINGS FROM 30-35 PERCENT...LONG TERM DROUGHT

SFC HIGH PRESSURE OFF THE MID-ATLANTIC WILL MOVE SWD SUSTAINING A
MODEST PRESSURE GRADIENT OVER SRN/CENTRAL FL TODAY. WITH THE
PRESENCE OF UPPER RIDGING OVER THE AREA...LARGE SCALE SUBSIDENCE AND
LONG TERM DROUGHT CONDITIONS WILL SUPPORT ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES
IN THE MID/UPPER 80S ALONG WITH DEWPTS IN THE 50S. MIN RH READINGS
FROM 30-35 PERCENT WILL THEREFORE BE PRESENT. COMBINED WITH MODEST
SFC WINDS...A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT WILL EXIST.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - FOR PORTIONS OF SRN/CENTRAL
NV...SERN CA AND FAR WRN AZ...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED SSWLY WINDS FROM 20-25 MPH WITH GUSTS
UP TO 35 MPH...MIN RH READINGS AROUND 15 PERCENT

A STRONG UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE SEWD ALONG THE WEST COAST THROUGH
TODAY. AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM...A COMBINATION OF STRONG MID LEVEL
WINDS AND DEEPENING SFC LOW PRESSURE OVER NRN NV WILL SUPPORT
INCREASING SFC WINDS OVER THE SRN GREAT BASIN AND PORTIONS OF THE
LOWER CO RIVER VALLEY. DESPITE ABUNDANCE OF MID/HIGH CLOUD COVER
WHICH WILL TEND TO LIMIT THE DEGREE OF SFC HEATING...LOW DEWPTS IN
THE TEENS/20S COMBINED WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL SUPPORT
MIN RH READINGS AROUND 15 PERCENT. AS A STRONG COLD FRONT PUSHES SWD
THROUGH THE REGION OVERNIGHT...RH READING WILL DRAMATICALLY IMPROVE
   BEHIND THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0413 AM CDT MON MAR 26 2007

   VALID 271200Z - 281200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR PORTIONS OF SRN AZ...SRN NM AND
   FAR WRN TX...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE THROUGH THE INTER MTN WEST TOMORROW.
AHEAD OF THIS TROUGH...MODERATE SWLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP OVER MUCH OF
THE DESERT SW AND SRN/CENTRAL ROCKIES. NORMAL-ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES AND LOW RH READINGS COMBINED WITH THESE WINDS WILL
SUPPORT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TO PORTIONS OF SRN AZ/NM
AND FAR WRN TX. ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE NATION...WELL ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES WILL AGAIN BE PRESENT OVER MUCH OF THE ERN HALF OF THE
NATION UNDER THE PRESENCE A BROAD UPPER RIDGE. HOWEVER...GENERALLY
LIGHT WINDS AND/OR MODEST RH READINGS WILL PRECLUDE CRITICAL FIRE
   WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THIS REGION.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - PORTIONS OF SCENTRAL/SERN AZ...SRN
   NM AND FAR WRN TX...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED WSWLY WINDS FROM 20-30 MPH WITH GUSTS
OVER 35 MPH...MIN RH READINGS NEAR 15 PERCENT

AHEAD OF A STRONG UPPER TROUGH...LOW-MID LEVEL COOLING WILL OCCUR IN
THE WAKE OF A PACIFIC COLD FRONT. THIS WILL RESULT IN STEEPENING
LOW-MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES OVER THE REGION. WITH THE PRESENCE OF
STRONG MID LEVEL WINDS FIELDS...SWLY SFC WINDS SHOULD INCREASE
MARKEDLY DURING THE PERIOD. DESPITE THE EXPECTED LOW LEVEL COOLING
WITH TEMPERATURES RETURNING TO NEAR SEASONAL NORMS...DEWPTS SHOULD
FALL INTO THE TEENS/20S GIVEN THE DEPTH OF THE MIXING LAYER. THUS
MIN RH READINGS ARE EXPECTED TO FALL TO AROUND 15 PERCENT. ALONG
WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED WIND FIELDS...A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT
WILL EXIST DURING THE AFTERNOON HRS WHEN THE LOWEST RH READINGS WILL
   OCCUR.

   ...CENTRAL AZ/NM...
NORTH OF THE CRITICAL AREA...SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES WILL
EXIST. THIS SHOULD MAINTAIN MIN RH READINGS JUST ABOVE 15 PERCENT.
GIVEN THE EXPECTED STRONG WINDS IN THIS REGION AS WELL...AREA WILL
BE MONITORED FOR POSSIBLE UPGRADE IF LOWER RH READINGS BECOME
   APPARENT IN LATER FCSTS.

   ...LOWER CO RIVER VALLEY...
BEHIND THE UPPER TROUGH AND SFC COLD FRONT...SFC WINDS WILL SHIFT TO
A WNWLY DIRECTION. MUCH COOLER TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S WILL BE
SOMEWHAT OFFSET BY VERY LOW DWPTS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TO SUPPORT
MIN RH READING FROM 6-10 PERCENT. THERE REMAINS SOME UNCERTAINTY IN
HOW STRONG THE SFC WINDS WILL REMAIN IN THIS REGION DURING THE
AFTERNOON...THUS A CRITICAL AREA WILL NOT BE ISSUED ATTM.
