   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0351 AM CDT FRI MAR 30 2007

   VALID 301200Z - 311200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
LARGE SCALE PATTERN CONTINUES TO BE DOMINATED BY UPPER TROUGH
CENTERED ACROSS THE FOUR CORNERS REGION...AND A BROAD RIDGE ACROSS
THE OH AND TN VALLEYS. SYSTEM IN THE WEST HAS BEEN SLOW TO MOVE
EWD...BUT THAT WILL CHANGE TODAY. SRN STREAM IMPULSE WILL EJECT INTO
THE SRN PLAINS...WHILE A CLOSED UPPER LOW LIFTS NEWD ACROSS THE NRN
HIGH PLAINS. SFC COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SLOWLY EWD TODAY EXTENDING
FROM SW TX THROUGH CNTRL OK BY THIS EVENING. WIDESPREAD
SHOWERS/TSTMS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS A GOOD PORTION OF THE SRN/CNTRL
PLAINS AND MID MS VALLEY. FIRE CONCERNS WILL BE CONFINED TO PORTIONS
OF EXTREME SW TX...AND PORTIONS OF THE MID ATLANTIC AND NORTHEAST.

   ...EXTREME SW TX...
FORECAST SOUNDINGS SUGGEST MINIMUM RH VALUES WILL FALL BELOW 15
PERCENT THIS AFTN FROM ELP TO MRF AS TEMPS CLIMB INTO THE MID/UPPER
60S. IN ADDITION...SFC WINDS WILL RANGE FROM 15-25 MPH...AND THE DRY
WINDY CONDITIONS MAY INCREASE THREAT FOR WILDFIRE.

   ...DELMARVA THROUGH SRN NEW ENGLAND...
RECENT OBSERVATIONS INDICATE FIRE DANGER CLASS VALUES ARE IN THE
VERY HIGH RANGE ACROSS THIS AREA DUE IN PART TO THE DRY HIGH
PRESSURE IN PLACE. MINIMUM HUMIDITY VALUES ON THURSDAY WERE AS LOW
AS 10-15 PERCENT ACROSS PORTIONS OF PA. ALTHOUGH LOW HUMIDITY WILL
CONTINUE TODAY...WINDS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BE STRONG ENOUGH TO
WARRANT A WIDESPREAD THREAT FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.
