   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0457 AM CDT MON APR 16 2007

   VALID 161200Z - 171200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SRN NM/FAR W TX...
...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NRN/CNTRL FL AND SE GA...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER LOW WAS CENTERED OVER THE LOWER CO VALLEY EARLY THIS MORNING
AND WILL SLOWLY MOVE E/SE ACROSS AZ TODAY. ASSOCIATED 80 KT MID
LEVEL JET WILL DIG AROUND THE BASE OF THE UPPER TROUGH...WITH A
DEEPENING LEE TROUGH OVER THE HIGH PLAINS. SFC WINDS WILL INCREASE
AS A RESULT OF STRENGTHENING GRADIENT AND ISOLD TSTMS ARE POSSIBLE
THIS AFTN AND TONIGHT ACROSS PORTIONS OF NM/CO AND W TX. INTENSE SFC
PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL EXIST ACROSS THE ERN STATES TODAY DUE TO VERY
STRONG STORM SYSTEM IN THE NORTHEAST. CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS ARE
LIKELY ACROSS PORTIONS OF NRN/CNTRL FL DUE TO VERY STRONG WINDS AND
   LOW HUMIDITY VALUES.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN NM/FAR W TX...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED WINDS 20-30 MPH/MIN RH VALUES BELOW 15
PERCENT/VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER CLASS VALUES

SUSTAINED WINDS WILL INCREASE TODAY INTO THE 20-30 MPH RANGE...AS
MAX TEMPS TOP OUT IN THE 70S. MIN RH VALUES WILL FALL BELOW 15
PERCENT WITH SFC DEWPOINTS IN THE TEENS. RECENT FIRE DANGER CLASS
VALUES CONTINUE TO INDICATE HIGH TO EXTREME VALUES. IN
ADDITION...ISOLD HIGH BASED TSTMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE
HIGHER TERRAIN OF NM. FORECAST SOUNDINGS SUGGEST INVERTED-V
THERMODYNAMIC PROFILES...SO IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOME STORMS MAY NOT
   BE ACCOMPANIED BY MUCH RAINFALL.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NRN/CNTRL FL AND SE GA...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED WINDS 15-30 MPH/MIN RH VALUES BELOW 35
   PERCENT/HIGH KBDI VALUES

VERY STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST
TODAY...UNTIL PRESSURE GRADIENT RELAXES BY TUESDAY. DRY AIRMASS WILL
ALSO BE IN PLACE...AND RESULTING LOW HUMIDITY VALUES WILL RANGE FROM
20-30 PERCENT. PORTIONS OF CNTRL FL DID NOT RECEIVE MUCH IF ANY
PRECIPITATION ON SUNDAY...SO KBDI VALUES REMAIN ABOVE 400 FOR MUCH
   OF THE STATE.

   ...CNTRL GA/CAROLINAS...
VERY WINDY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TODAY...ALONG WITH LOW HUMIDITY
BELOW 35 PERCENT. HOWEVER...MUCH OF THE AREA RECEIVED MODERATE TO
SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION ON SUNDAY...WHICH WILL HELP LESSEN
   WILDFIRE THREAT TODAY.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0458 AM CDT MON APR 16 2007

   VALID 171200Z - 181200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
BY TUESDAY...UPPER LOW NOW IN THE SOUTHWEST WILL MOVE EWD THROUGH
THE SRN PLAINS...AS ANOTHER UPPER TROUGH MOVES ONSHORE IN THE
PACIFIC NORTHWEST. ASSOCIATED SFC LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE
ACROSS TX WITH STRONG WLY WINDS BEHIND THE COLD FRONT. CRITICAL FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP ACROSS PORTIONS OF SCNTRL TX...WHERE
LOWERING HUMIDITY AND STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED. SFC HIGH PRESSURE
RIDGE WILL BUILD ACROSS THE CNTRL GULF STATES...AND PRESSURE
GRADIENT SHOULD BEGIN TO RELAX ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST. STILL...THERE
MAY BE A PERIOD OF NEAR CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS ACROSS NRN/CNTRL FL
WHERE LOW HUMIDITY WILL PERSIST THROUGH TUE AFTN.

   ...SCNTRL TX...
MAX TEMPS ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB INTO THE MID 70S TO 80S ON
TUE...AHEAD OF APPROACHING FRONTAL SYSTEM. MIN RH VALUES WILL LIKELY
DIP BELOW 15 PERCENT...WITH SFC WINDS INCREASING TO 15-25 MPH.
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE GIVEN THESE WEATHER
CONDITIONS. A POSSIBLE LIMITING FACTOR MAY BE SPRING GREENUP AND
IMPROVING LONG TERM DROUGHT CONDITIONS GIVEN RECENT PRECIPITATION.

   ...NRN/CNTRL FL...
POINT FORECAST SOUNDINGS SUGGEST MINIMUM RH VALUES WILL STILL BE
BELOW 30 PERCENT ON TUESDAY ACROSS THE AREA. HOWEVER...SFC WINDS
SHOULD BE DIMINISHED FROM MONDAY...WHICH WILL LESSEN FIRE WEATHER
   THREAT ACROSS THE AREA.
