   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0446 AM CDT SAT MAY 19 2007

   VALID 191200Z - 201200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NRN/CNTRL FL...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
MID/UPPER LEVEL LOW NOW OVER SERN VA/NERN NC WILL DEEPEN THROUGH
TONIGHT AS IT SLOWLY APPROACHES CAPE COD BY EARLY SUNDAY. FARTHER
WEST...MANITOBA SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE AROUND THE NRN PERIPHERY
OF LARGE RIDGE LOCATED ACROSS THE CNTRL CONUS. AT LOWER LEVELS...SFC
HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAINED CENTERED ACROSS THE TN VALLEY WITH DRY
E/NELY WINDS CONTINUING ACROSS MUCH OF THE GULF COAST STATES. SFC
WINDS WILL INCREASE FROM THE SOUTH ACROSS THE CNTRL/SRN HIGH PLAINS
IN RESPONSE TO LEE TROUGH. SFC WINDS WILL ALSO INCREASE ACROSS THE
GREAT BASIN BECAUSE OF DEEPENING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IN MT.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NRN/CNTRL FL...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED WINDS 15-20 MPH/MIN RH VALUES BELOW 35
   PERCENT/LONG TERM DROUGHT

CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE TODAY ACROSS
PORTIONS OF NRN/CNTRL FL DUE TO THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WIND/LOW
RH AND LONG TERM DROUGHT. COLD FRONT MOVED THROUGH THE AREA ON
FRIDAY...AND DRIER AIR IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION THIS AFTN.
MINIMUM RH VALUES ARE FORECAST TO FALL BELOW 35 PERCENT WITH
SUSTAINED E/NE WINDS AROUND 15 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. KBDI VALUES
REMAIN VERY HIGH...INDICATIVE OF THE VERY DRY FUELS IN PLACE.

   ...REST OF THE SOUTHEAST...
MINIMUM RH VALUES WILL FALL BELOW CRITICAL LEVELS FOR SEVERAL HOURS
THIS AFTN. SOME LOCATIONS WILL OBSERVE RH VALUES BELOW 20-25
PERCENT. HOWEVER...SFC WINDS WILL GENERALLY BE LIGHT UNDER THE
   INFLUENCE OF HIGH PRESSURE.

   ...NRN/CENTRAL GREAT BASIN...
ISOLD DRY TSTMS ARE POSSIBLE TODAY...PARTICULARLY ACROSS NERN
PORTIONS OF NV AND ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF UT ACROSS THE
SCNTRL MTNS AND WASATCH RANGE. MINIMUM RH VALUES WILL BE BELOW 15
PERCENT WITH CLOUD BASES AROUND 9000-10000FT AGL. OVERALL COVERAGE
WILL NOT WARRANT A CRITICAL OUTLOOK.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0447 AM CDT SAT MAY 19 2007

   VALID 201200Z - 211200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR ERN NV/SWRN AND CNTRL UT...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
NEXT UPPER TROUGH WILL AFFECT THE WESTERN STATES BY SUNDAY...WITH
MID LEVEL RIDGE SLIDING EAST ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES. SFC HIGH
PRESSURE WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST...THOUGH WEAKENING
PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL YIELD LIGHT WINDS EVEN WITH VERY LOW HUMIDITY
VALUES. SFC LOW PRESSURE WILL DEEPEN ACROSS THE NRN ROCKIES/GREAT
BASIN IN RESPONSE TO THE APPROACHING UPPER STORM SYSTEM. DRY COLD
FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH CNTRL NV DURING THE DAY...WITH STRONG SW
WINDS DEVELOPING AHEAD OF THE BOUNDARY. IT APPEARS THAT CRITICAL
FIRE CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF NV/UT IN ASSOCIATION
WITH DRY/WINDY WEATHER AND ISOLATED DRY TSTMS.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - ERN NV/SWRN AND CNTRL UT...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED WINDS 15-25 MPH/MIN RH VALUES BELOW 15
   PERCENT/ISOLATED DRY TSTMS/

MID LEVEL WINDS WILL INCREASE TO AROUND 40-45 KT BY 00Z/21...AS
SPEED MAX APPROACHES. MODEL GUIDANCE AND FORECAST SOUNDINGS SUGGEST
THAT SUSTAINED SFC WINDS WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM 15-25 MPH WITH
HIGHER GUSTS WITH MIN RH VALUES BELOW 10 PERCENT. IN ADDITION...THE
COLD FRONT MAY HELP TRIGGER ISOLD AFTN/EVENING TSTMS. PW VALUES WILL
BE ON THE ORDER OF 0.5 INCHES OR LESS...WITH VERY HIGH CLOUD BASES
AND INVERTED-V THERMODYNAMIC PROFILES...INDICATING DRY LIGHTNING
   STRIKES ARE POSSIBLE.
