...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SRN GA INTO NRN AND WRN FL...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AN UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN OVER THE SERN STATES WITH SURFACE HIGH
PRESSURE. WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL RESULT ALONG WITH GUSTY ELY
WINDS SOUTH OF SURFACE RIDGE AXIS INTO FL. FARTHER N HIGH PRESSURE
WILL BUILD INTO NEW ENGLAND WITH INCREASED WINDS AND LOW RH. OVER
THE SW...HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE UNDER MAINLY ZONAL
FLOW ALOFT...BUT A WEAK UPPER SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL QUICKLY MOVE
ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN WITH LOCALLY GUSTY AFTERNOON WINDS.
MEANWHILE...AN UPPER TROUGH AND SURFACE LOW WILL BRING SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS FROM THE UPPER MS VALLEY SWD INTO THE PLAINS...WITH
ADDITIONAL STORMS INTO THE MIDWEST AS MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY WRAP
   AROUND SERN HIGH.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN GA INTO NRN AND WRN FL...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: GUSTY WINDS...LOW RH...EXTREME DROUGHT

WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST WITH HIGH PRESSURE IN CONTROL.
ELY FLOW AROUND THIS HIGH WILL KEEP DEWPOINTS UP ALONG THE E
COAST...BUT HEATING AND MIXING WILL HELP BRING RH DOWN BELOW 35
PERCENT ACROSS THE INTERIOR THIS AFTERNOON. SUSTAINED WINDS AROUND
15 MPH WILL BE LIKELY AREAWIDE WITH GUSTS OVER 20 MPH MAINLY ACROSS
FL. COMBINATION OF MODERATELY LOW RH AND GUSTY WINDS ALONG WITH
SEVERE DROUGHT CONDITIONS WILL PRODUCE HAZARDOUS FIRE WEATHER
   CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON.

   ...ERN NY INTO NEW ENGLAND...
IT WILL REMAIN RELATIVELY WARM TODAY ALTHOUGH NOT QUITE AS WARM AS
YESTERDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM THE W. SUSTAINED WLY WINDS
OF 15-20 MPH ARE EXPECTED WITH THE STRONGEST GUSTS OVER NRN ME. RH
OF 25-35 PERCENT IS ANTICIPATED BY AFTERNOON. THIS WILL RESULT IN AN
ENHANCED...BUT LESS THAN CRITICAL FIRE THREAT GIVEN RECENT
   PRECIPITATION.

   ...NV INTO AZ...
A VERY WARM AND DRY AIR MASS WILL REMAIN OVER THE AREA TODAY BENEATH
STRENGTHENING UPPER RIDGE. THERE WILL ALSO BE A TRANSIENT WEAK UPPER
DISTURBANCE THAT WILL BRIEFLY AFFECT THE REGION...AND THIS MAY
RESULT IN LOCAL WIND GUST ENHANCEMENT. IN GENERAL...WINDS ARE
EXPECTED TO REMAIN AT OR BELOW 15 MPH.
