   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0256 AM CDT WED JUN 13 2007

   VALID 131200Z - 141200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AN UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN OVER THE GREAT BASIN AND SWRN STATES WITH
WARM AND DRY WEATHER PERSISTING. NRN EDGE OF RIDGE WILL FLATTEN AS
LOW AMPLITUDE UPPER TROUGH MOVES ACROSS THE PACIFIC NW WITH COLD
FRONT INTO WRN MT BY THU MORNING. TO THE E...A BLOCKING UPPER RIDGE
AXIS WILL EXTEND FROM ONTARIO SWD INTO WI WITH SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE
PROVIDING VERY DRY AND WARM CONDITIONS. ELSEWHERE...IT WILL REMAIN
DRY ACROSS MUCH OF AL AND MS AS DROUGHT PERSISTS...WITH LOW
   AFTERNOON RH.

   ...MI/IL/WI...
IT WILL BE VERY DRY TODAY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF HIGH PRESSURE.
TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 80S TO LOWER 90S WILL RESULT IN MIN RH
VALUES INTO THE 20 PERCENT RANGE AT PEAK HEATING...ALTHOUGH WINDS
SHOULD REMAIN BELOW 10 MPH. THIS MAY RESULT IN A MARGINAL FIRE
THREAT IN SPOTTY/LOCALIZED AREAS THAT HAVE HAD RELATIVELY LITTLE
   PRECIPITATION RECENTLY.

   ...WA/OR/NRN CA...
A PACIFIC COLD FRONT WILL EXTEND FROM ERN WA/OR SWD INTO NRN CA BY
LATE TODAY. WLY WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15-20 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS
MAINLY ACROSS WA AND NRN OREGON. A FEW GUSTS TO NEAR 20 MPH WILL
ALSO BE POSSIBLE OVER NRN CA AS THERMAL LOW DEEPENS IN THE VALLEYS.

   ...SRN ID...
WLY WINDS WILL INCREASE TO NEAR 15 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS AS A LOW
PRESSURE TROUGH DEVELOPS AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. RH LEVELS ARE ONLY
EXPECTED TO BE MARGINALLY LOW FROM 20-25 PERCENT.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

   VALID 141200Z - 151200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
WEATHER PATTERN WILL CHANGE LITTLE FROM PREVIOUS DAY WITH HOT AND
DRY CONDITIONS UNDER UPPER RIDGE OVER THE GREAT BASIN/FOUR CORNERS
STATES WITH ANOTHER UPPER RIDGE AND SURFACE HIGH OVER THE GREAT
LAKES. SLIGHTLY STRONGER ZONAL FLOW ALOFT AND STALLED COLD FRONT
WILL ALLOW FOR A FEW STRONG WIND GUSTS ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN AND
INTO ID/WY. WEAK UPPER LOW WILL CONTINUE RAIN CHANCES OVER THE CNTRL
PLAINS WHILE UPPER TROUGH PRODUCES SHOWERS OVER THE SE.

   ...GREAT BASIN INTO WY...
A COLD FRONT WILL EXTEND FROM SRN MT ACROSS NRN WY INTO NRN NV THU
AFTERNOON SOUTH OF THIS FRONT...VERY HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL
PERSIST WITH MIN RH FROM 10-15 PERCENT NV TO NEAR 15 PERCENT OVER
SRN WY. A LOW PRESSURE TROUGH WILL EXTEND FROM ERN WY INTO SRN NV BY
AFTERNOON...WHERE STRONG MIXING WILL HELP PRODUCE WINDS TO NEAR 15
MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. IN ADDITION...A HIGH HAINES INDEX WILL OCCUR
OVER MUCH OF SRN UT INTO NV...AZ...AND SRN CA. THUS...POTENTIAL WILL
   EXIST FOR AFTERNOON FIRE GROWTH.

   ...MIDWEST INTO GREAT LAKES...
VERY WARM CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST AGAIN ON THU UNDER UPPER RIDGE. RH
VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO BE A BIT HIGHER THAN PREVIOUS DAY AS AIR MASS
MODIFIES...BUT VERY WARM TEMPERATURES WILL ALLOW RH TO DROP TO NEAR
25 PERCENT OVER IL AND NEAR 30 PERCENT INTO WI AND MI. WINDS WILL
AGAIN AVERAGE AT OR BELOW 10 MPH.
