   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0451 AM CDT WED JUN 20 2007

   VALID 201200Z - 211200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR A PORTION OF THE ERN GREAT
   BASIN/CENTRAL ROCKIES...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN OVER THE ROCKIES TODAY....WITH UPPER
TROUGHING OVER THE ERN AND WRN CONUS. ASSOCIATED WITH THE WRN UPPER
TROUGH...A BROAD AREA OF BREEZY CONDITIONS IS EXPECTED OVER THE
GREAT BASIN AND CENTRAL ROCKIES. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO
OCCUR OVER THE ERN GREAT BASIN WHERE THE DEEPEST MIXING WILL BE IN
PLACE. OUTSIDE OF THIS AREA OF CRITICAL CONDITIONS...VERY LOW RH
READINGS WILL BE PREVALENT OVER MUCH OF THE SOUTHWEST STATES...WHERE
ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPS AND LOW DEWPTS EXIST. FURTHER EAST...IN THE WAKE
OF THE ERN TROUGH DRIER AIR WILL FILTER INTO THE SOUTHEAST.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - ERN NV...WRN/NRN UT AND SWRN WY...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SUSTAINED SWLY WINDS AROUND 20 MPH...MIN RH
READINGS FROM 5-10 PERCENT...LONG TERM DROUGHT

ASSOCIATED WITH AN APPROACHING UPPER TROUGH /OFF CA COAST EARLY THIS
MORNING/ AN AREA OF SFC LOW PRESSURE WILL DEEPEN OVER THE NRN
ROCKIES...WHILE MID LEVEL FLOW GRADUALLY STRENGTHENS. THE RESULT
WILL BE THE DEVELOPMENT OF BREEZY CONDITIONS OVER THE AREA. THE
COMBINATION OF SUSTAINED WINDS AROUND 20 MPH WITH VERY WARM
TEMPERATURES /5-10 DEG F ABOVE NORMAL/ AND LOW RH READINGS /LESS
THAN 10 PERCENT/ WILL SUPPORT A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER THREAT.
CRITICAL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO DIMINISH RAPIDLY AFTER SUNSET.

   ...ERN AZ/WRN NM...
ON THE WRN FRINGE OF MID LEVEL MOISTURE...VERY DRY LOW LEVELS WILL
SUPPORT ISOLATED DRY TSTM DEVELOPMENT IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF SERN
AZ/SWRN AND WCENTRAL NM. GIVEN THE LACK OF UPPER SUPPORT...TSTMS ARE
EXPECTED TO BE ISOLATED ENOUGH TO PRECLUDE A CRITICAL THREAT.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0452 AM CDT WED JUN 20 2007

   VALID 211200Z - 221200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A BROAD UPPER RIDGE CENTERED OVER THE SRN ROCKIES WILL CONTINUE TO
SHAPE THE SENSIBLE WEATHER ACROSS THE NATION TOMORROW. ON EITHER
SIDE OF THE UPPER RIDGE...THERE WILL BE AN UPPER SYSTEM OVER THE
WEST AND EAST. THE WRN SYSTEM WILL SUPPORT BREEZY CONDITIONS OVER
THE NRN/WRN GREAT BASIN...WHILE IN THE WAKE OF THE ERN SYSTEM...
WARM/DRY CONDITIONS WILL BE PREVALENT OVER THE SERN/MID ATLANTIC
STATES. ATTM...NO CRITICAL AREAS ARE APPARENT GIVEN LACK OF STRONGER
   WINDS.

   ...NRN/WRN GREAT BASIN...
SOUTH OF A COLD FRONT OVER ERN ORE/WA...AREA WILL BE ON THE EDGE OF
STRONGER MID LEVEL WINDS. VERY WARM TEMPERATURES /SOME 5-10 DEG F
ABOVE NORMAL/ WILL SUPPORT LOW RH READINGS /AROUND 10 PERCENT/. WEAK
UPPER RIDGING ALONG WITH LACK OF STRONG WIND FIELDS ALOFT WILL LIMIT
THE STRENGTH OF THE SFC WINDS. THUS CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
   ARE NOT EXPECTED.

   ...CENTRAL ROCKIES...
ASSOCIATED WITH AN WEAKENING SHORTWAVE TROUGH /FROM DAY 1/ GUSTY WLY
WINDS WILL OCCUR OVER THE AREA DURING THE AFTERNOON. SUSTAINED WINDS
SHOULD REMAIN BELOW 20 MPH PRECLUDING A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
   THREAT.

   ...SERN STATES...
ANOTHER VERY WARM DAY /TEMPERATURES 5-10 DEG F ABOVE NORMAL/ WILL
OCCUR TOMORROW. DRY AIR WILL SUPPORT MIN RH READINGS FROM 20-30
PERCENT. BUT GENERALLY LIGHT WINDS /LESS THAN 10 MPH/ WILL PRECLUDE
   A CRITICAL OUTLOOK AREA.

   ...ERN AZ/WRN NM...
ANOTHER DAY OF ISOLATED DRY TSTMS CAN BE EXPECTED ON THE WRN EDGE OF
THE MID LEVEL MOISTURE. DRY TSTMS SHOULD DEVELOP SLIGHTLY FARTHER
WEST INTO SERN AZ THAN ON DAY 1...BUT STILL REMAIN MOSTLY IN THE
   HIGHER TERRAIN.
