   ...SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG UPPER TROUGH WILL AFFECT THE WRN U.S. TODAY WITH UPPER
RIDGE AXIS FROM CNTRL MT INTO THE FOUR CORNERS. THE TROUGH WILL
BRING VERY STRONG WINDS TO THE GREAT BASIN AHEAD OF A COLD
FRONT...AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FARTHER N INTO ERN WA/NRN ID
AND NWRN MT. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL ALSO OCCUR OVER THE CNTRL
ROCKIES...AND A FEW COULD BE DRY OVER ERN UT AND WRN WY.
ELSEWHERE...IT WILL BE VERY HOT OVER THE CNTRL PLAINS WITH STRONG
SLY WINDS...WHILE HEAVY RAINS OCCUR ALONG A COLD FRONT FROM ERN NEB
   INTO IA.

...EXTREMELY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - CNTRL NV...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: VERY STRONG WINDS...LOW RH...HIGH HAINES

A PACIFIC COLD FRONT WILL STRETCH FROM ERN WA/OR SWD INTO WRN NV AND
THE NRN SIERRA BY LATE TODAY. AHEAD OF THIS FRONT...IT WILL REMAIN
VERY HOT AND DRY WITH STRONG WINDS. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL WELL
AHEAD OF THE FRONT OVER CNTRL AND ERN NV...WHERE SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF
20-30 MPH WILL BE COMMON WITH HIGHER GUSTS OF 30-40 MPH. RH WILL
ALSO BE FROM THE UPPER SINGLE DIGITS TO LOWER TEENS PRODUCING
LOCALLY EXTREME FIRE CONDITIONS. A WINDS SHIFT WILL ALSO OCCUR LATE
IN THE DAY MAINLY W OF THE CRITICAL AREA.

   ...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NV...SRN UT...ERN CA...SRN ID...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS...LOW RH...WIND SHIFT WRN AREAS

FARTHER W INTO THE NRN SIERRA AND WRN NV...A WIND SHIFT WILL OCCUR
WITH THE FRONT. WINDS WILL GRADUALLY VEER TO A WLY DIRECTION AT
15-25 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS WHILE RH DROPS TO NEAR 15 PERCENT. THE
WINDS SHIFT MAY PROVE TO BE PARTICULARLY TREACHEROUS OVER NRN NV
WHERE FIRES ARE ONGOING. WINDS IN THIS AREA WILL BLOW AT 15-20 MPH
OUT OF THE WNW INTO THE LATE EVENING HOURS. THE STRONG WINDS AND LOW
RH WILL EXTEND INTO SRN ID AND WRN UT WITH PARTICULARLY GUSTY WINDS
   THROUGH THE TOOELE VALLEY.

FARTHER S...SWLY DOWNSLOPE WINDS OF 20-30 MPH WILL BLOW IN THE LEE
OF THE SRN SIERRA AND ACROSS THE MOJAVE DESERT. WINDS COULD BE
   ESPECIALLY GUSTY THROUGH THE VALLEYS.

   ...ERN UT...
INCREASING SLY FLOW AHEAD OF AN UPPER TROUGH WILL HELP TO DECREASE
RH LEVELS THIS AFTERNOON. ALTHOUGH DRIER THAN PREVIOUS
DAY...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE STILL ANTICIPATED OVER THE NRN
WASATCH AND UINTA MTS. MODEL FORECAST SOUNDINGS INDICATE AVERAGE SUB
CLOUD RH OF 25-30 PERCENT...FAVORING EVAPORATION AND GUSTY WINDS.
THREAT OF LIGHTNING CAUSED FIRES WILL REMAIN HIGH WITH ANY STRIKES
   THAT OCCUR.
