   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0409 AM CDT WED JUL 25 2007

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NORTHEAST CA/SOUTHEAST
   OR/NORTHWEST NV...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS FIRMLY ESTABLISHED OVER
MOST OF THE WEST AND WILL BUILD BACK INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THE
NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. MOISTURE FROM THE SOUTHWEST MONSOON COVERS MOST
OF THE SOUTHWEST US. PERIODIC SURGES NORTHWARD AROUND THE WESTERN
EDGE OF THE HIGH WILL TRIGGER MAINLY WET THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS MOST
AREAS OF THE WEST EXCEPT THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WHERE MORE LIMITED
MOISTURE ON THE LEADING EDGE OF THE DEEPER MOISTURE WILL LEAD TO
   MORE DRY THUNDERSTORMS.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NORTHEAST CA/SOUTHEAST OR/NORTHWEST
   NV...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: DRY THUNDERSTORMS AND ASSOCIATED GUSTY WINDS

THIS AREA IS NEAR THE EDGE OF THE DEEPER...MORE PLENTIFUL MOISTURE.
AS AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES EDGE WARMER THAN TUESDAY...AN UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE MOVING NORTHWARD TOWARDS THE AREA FROM SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA SHOULD TRIGGER WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS. DEPENDING
ON THE EXTENT OF THE MOISTURE...A FEW STORMS MAY BE WET...BUT EXPECT
MOST STORMS THAT DO FORM TO BE DRY ALONG WITH GUSTY OUTFLOW WINDS.
