   AN UPPER TROUGH WILL SLOWLY MOVE EWD ACROSS THE CNTRL U.S. WITH RAIN
   AND STORMS ALONG A COLD FRONT FROM THE OK/TX PANHANDLES NEWD INTO
   THE LOWER GREAT LAKES. TO THE SOUTH OF THIS FRONT...HOT AND DRY
   WEATHER WILL PERSIST ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE MID/LOWER MS VALLEY
   REGION WITH SWLY WINDS INCREASING AND LOW RH. UPPER RIDGE WILL BUILD
   ACROSS THE WRN STATES WITH A WARM AND DRY AIR MASS SPREADING NWD
   INTO THE PACIFIC NW AS WELL AS INTO THE CNTRL ROCKIES IN WAKE OF
   DEPARTING TROUGH.
   
   ...ERN AR...NRN MS..WRN TN/KY...SRN IL...SERN MO...
   SWLY WINDS WILL INCREASE AHEAD OF A LOW PRESSURE TROUGH THAT WILL
   EXTEND FROM CNTRL IL INTO WRN OK THIS AFTERNOON. IT WILL BE VERY HOT
   AND DRY...WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES NEAR 100 F AND MIN RH OF 20-30
   PERCENT. SUSTAINED SWLY WINDS WILL AVERAGE NEAR 15 MPH WITH HIGHER
   GUSTS. THIS WILL RESULT IN A MARGINALLY CRITICAL FIRE THREAT THIS
   AFTERNOON GIVEN DROUGHT CONDITIONS IN PLACE.

   AS UPPER TROUGH SHIFTS EWD ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES REGION INTO NEW
   ENGLAND...UPPER RIDGE OVER THE ROCKIES WILL INTENSIFY BRINGING A
   RETURN OF VERY WARM AND DRY AIR NWD ACROSS MOST OF THE WEST. THE
   EXCEPTION WILL BE W OF THE WA/OR CASCADES...WHERE A PACIFIC FRONT
   WILL LIE WITH APPROACHING UPPER TROUGH. THIS TROUGH WILL CAUSE AN
   INCREASE IN WINDS OVER NWRN MT FOR LOCALLY CRITICAL CONDITIONS.
   
   THE GREAT LAKES TROUGH WILL BRING A SURFACE LOW ACROSS THE ERN GREAT
   LAKES INTO SRN QUEBEC...WITH STRONG SWLY WINDS AT THE SURFACE OVER
   MUCH OF THE NORTHEAST WHERE IT WILL BE WARM WITH MARGINALLY LOW RH
   BEFORE STORMS MOVE THROUGH.
   
   ...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NWRN MT AND FAR NRN ID...
   
   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS AND LOW RH...DROUGHT
   
   WLY WINDS WILL INCREASE WITH APPROACH OF UPPER TROUGH. THE STRONGEST
   WINDS WILL BE IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN AND ALSO IN DOWNSLOPE AREAS.
   SUSTAINED WLY WINDS NEAR 20 MPH ARE LIKELY WITH HIGHER GUSTS
   ESPECIALLY NEAR RIDGE TOPS. RH SHOULD DROP TO NEAR 15 PERCENT AT
   PEAK HEATING AND WILL BE LOWEST WITHIN LEE TROUGH E OF THE DIVIDE.
   
   ...NRN NY INTO CNTRL VT/NH...
   IT WILL BE WARM AND WINDY AS SURFACE LOW DEEPENS JUST N OF THE
   CANADIAN BORDER. TEMPERATURES WILL RISE INTO THE 90S WHICH MAY
   RESULT IN MARGINALLY LOW RH VALUES INTO THE 30 PERCENT RANGE. ANY
   MARGINAL FIRE THREAT WILL RAPIDLY DISAPPEAR ONCE SCATTERED SEVERE
   STORMS MOVE INTO THE AREA LATE IN THE DAY.
