...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR MUCH OF MT/EASTERN ID/FAR NORTHERN
   UT AND WESTERN/CENTRAL WY...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A BROAD UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN FROM THE DESERT SOUTHWEST/SOUTHERN
ROCKIES TO THE SOUTHEAST STATES TODAY...WHILE A POTENT SHORTWAVE
TROUGH/MID LEVEL JET AND ATTENDANT COLD FRONT CROSSES THE NORTHERN
ROCKIES. INCREASED WINDS SPEEDS AND A WIND SHIFT WITH THE COLD FRONT
WILL LEAD TO CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS A LARGE PART OF
THE NORTHERN ROCKIES/CONTINENTAL DIVIDE REGION THIS AFTERNOON/EARLY
   EVENING.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - MUCH OF MT/EASTERN ID/FAR NORTHERN
   UT AND WESTERN/CENTRAL WY...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG/GUSTY WINDS AND DRY COLD FRONT PASSAGE

A BROAD EXTENT OF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS IS EXPECTED
ACROSS THE NORTHERN ROCKIES TODAY IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE SHORTWAVE
TROUGH/DRY COLD FRONT CROSSING THE REGION. BROAD SCALE WESTERLY
WINDS WILL LIKELY BECOME STRONG AND GUSTY BY EARLY/MID
AFTERNOON...WITH SUSTAINED WINDS IN EXCESS OF 20 MPH POSSIBLE /ALONG
WITH 30-40 MPH GUSTS/...ESPECIALLY ALONG/JUST EAST OF THE
CONTINENTAL DIVIDE FROM WEST CENTRAL MT INTO EASTERN ID/WESTERN WY.
WHILE TEMPERATURES/RH VALUES MAY TEND TO BE MORE MARGINAL ACROSS
PORTIONS OF MT...THE STRONG/GUSTY WINDS AND DRY COLD FRONT
PASSAGE/SUBSEQUENT WIND SHIFT SUPPORT A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
   THREAT.

   ...EASTERN ND/NORTHERN MN...
GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS ARE ANTICIPATED ACROSS MUCH OF THE UPPER
MIDWEST THIS AFTERNOON AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT/LEE
TROUGH...WITH AN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER FOR THE RELATIVELY DRY AREAS
OF EASTERN ND/NORTHERN MN. AN INCREASINGLY STRONG PRESSURE GRADIENT
WILL SUPPORT SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF 20 MPH THIS AFTERNOON /WITH
HIGHER GUSTS/...ESPECIALLY ACROSS MN. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN
THE 80S...ALTHOUGH RH VALUES WILL TEND TO BE MARGINAL. POTENTIAL FOR
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE ACROSS THE REGION
   THIS EVENING.

   0442 AM CDT SUN AUG 26 2007

   VALID 271200Z - 281200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
THE LARGE SCALE PATTERN WILL FLUCTUATE LITTLE INTO MONDAY. UPPER
RIDGE WILL REMAIN DOMINANT ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE
CONUS...WHILE THE SHORTWAVE TROUGH CHIEFLY RESPONSIBLE FOR CRITICAL
FIRE CONDITIONS ON DAY 1 WILL ADVANCE EASTWARD ACROSS THE CENTRAL
CANADIAN PROVINCES. OTHERWISE...SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE COMMON
ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST AND NORTHERN/CENTRAL PLAINS...AS WELL AS
   THE SOUTHEAST/GULF COAST STATES.

   ...EASTERN ID/WESTERN WY...
AS THE TRAILING PORTION OF A COLD FRONT CONTINUES TO ADVANCE
EAST-SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE REGION...BREEZY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE
ON MONDAY IN AREAS ALONG/WEST OF THE DIVIDE ACROSS WESTERN
WY/EASTERN ID. SUSTAINED WESTERLY WINDS OF 15 MPH /WITH HIGHER
