   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0317 AM CDT THU AUG 30 2007

   VALID 301200Z - 311200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR DRY TSTMS OVER MUCH OF THE
   INTERIOR PAC NW/NRN ROCKIES...
...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR DRY TSTMS OVER PORTIONS OF
   CENTRAL/NRN CA...WRN NV...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
SEVERAL SHORTWAVE TROUGHS WILL MOVE AROUND AN UPPER RIDGE CENTERED
OVER THE SOUTHWEST STATES. THESE SYSTEMS WILL INTERACT WITH A PLUME
OF MONSOONAL MOISTURE AND INCREASING LARGE SCALE ASCENT AHEAD OF A
TROUGH OFF THE PAC NW COAST TO SUPPORT SEVERAL CLUSTERS OF TSTMS
FROM CA NEWD INTO THE NRN ROCKIES. DRY LOW LEVELS OVER MUCH OF THE
INTERIOR PAC NW/NRN ROCKIES WILL SUPPORT A CRITICAL DRY TSTM THREAT
ACROSS THIS REGION. ISOLATED DRY TSTMS WILL BE POSSIBLE AS FAR WEST
AS INTERIOR CA. ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE NATION...A SFC FRONT EXTENDING
FROM THE SRN PLAINS INTO NEW ENGLAND WILL MOVE SEWD. AHEAD OF THIS
   FRONT...TSTMS WILL BE PRESENT.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - MUCH OF CENTRAL/ERN ORE AND WA...ID
   AND FAR WRN MT...

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SCT-NMRS DRY TSTMS

A SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE NEWD FROM SRN ORE EARLY THIS MORNING
INTO NRN ID BY THIS EVENING. THIS SYSTEM WILL BECOME ABSORBED WITHIN
INCREASING SWLY FLOW ALOFT ASSOCIATED WITH A DEEPENING UPPER TROUGH
OFF THE PAC NW COAST. INCREASING MID LEVEL MOISTURE NOTED ON THE 00Z
MEDFORD SOUNDING WILL OVERSPREAD A DRY/DEEPLY MIXED BOUNDARY LAYER
AIRMASS OVER THE INTERIOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL/ERN ORE...WA AND MUCH
OF ID/WRN MT THROUGH TONIGHT AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM. ALTHOUGH SOME
LIGHT RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE...PROGRESSIVE TSTM MOTIONS WILL SUPPORT
MAINLY DRY TSTMS. GIVEN THE EXPECTED COVERAGE OF TSTMS...A CRITICAL
DRY TSTM THREAT WILL BE POSSIBLE.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NRN AND CENTRAL CA AND WRN NV...

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SCT DRY TSTMS

A SECONDARY UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM OFF THE SRN CA COAST WILL MOVE NNEWD
THROUGH CENTRAL CA INTO NERN CA/WRN NV THROUGH TONIGHT. DESPITE
FAIRLY HIGH PWAT VALUES /AROUND 1 INCH/ SCT DRY TSTMS INITIALLY WILL
BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THIS REGION THROUGH THE THIS EVENING...MAINLY IN
LOWER ELEVATIONS WHERE SUB-CLOUD LAYER RH VALUES WILL BE LOWER AND
THE BOUNDARY LAYER WILL BE DEEPER. THIS IS EVIDENT BY RECENT
OBSERVATIONS FROM SAN LUIS OBISPO AND PASO ROBLES WHERE LITTLE TO NO
RAINFALL RAIN HAS BEEN REPORTED DESPITE NMRS TSTMS THAT HAVE
TRAVERSED THE AREA IN THE LAST FEW HOURS. GIVEN A GREATER DEPTH AND
QUANTITY OF MID LEVEL MOISTURE...TSTMS SHOULD TRANSITION TO
WET...ESPECIALLY OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN....WITH TIME.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0433 AM CDT THU AUG 30 2007

   VALID 311200Z - 011200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR DRY TSTMS OVER THE NRN ROCKIES...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AROUND A BROAD UPPER RIDGE CENTERED OVER THE FOUR
CORNERS...MONSOONAL MOISTURE WILL BE PRESENT OVER A LARGE PORTION OF
THE WRN CONUS. ON THE NWRN/NRN EDGES OF THIS MOISTURE...DRY TSTMS
WILL DEVELOP OVER MUCH OF THE NRN ROCKIES. THESE TSTMS WILL BE
SUPPORTED BY A LOW AMPLITUDE SRN STREAM SYSTEM AND A STRONGER UPPER
TROUGH MOVING INTO THE PAC NW. ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE NATION...SCT
TSTMS WILL BE PREVALENT FROM THE DESERT SW INTO THE SERN STATES.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NRN ROCKIES...

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: SCT-NMRS DRY TSTMS

A SRN STREAM SYSTEM OFF THE SRN CA COAST EARLY THIS MORNING WILL
LIFT NNEWD AROUND THE UPPER RIDGE AND BECOME ABSORBED IN
STRENGTHENING SWLY FLOW AHEAD OF A STRONGER UPPER TROUGH MOVING INTO
THE PAC NW TOMORROW. ALTHOUGH SCT-NMRS DRY TSTMS ARE EXPECTED TO
SUPPORT INCREASING MID LEVEL MOISTURE TODAY OVER ERN
ORE/WA..STRONGER MID LEVEL FLOW TOMORROW WILL SUPPORT FASTER STORM
MOTIONS AND LIKELIHOOD OF MAINLY DRY TSTMS OVER ERN WA/NERN ORE AND
WRN ID. FURTHER EAST OVER THE NRN ROCKIES...LESSER MID LEVEL
MOISTURE AND A DRIER BOUNDARY LAYER WILL SUPPORT MORE WIDESPREAD DRY
TSTMS OVER WRN/CENTRAL MT TOMORROW AFTERNOON/EVENING.
