   A VERY STRONG UPPER TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED SURFACE LOW WILL MOVE
   ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES INTO THE NE WITH SURFACE COLD FRONT TRAILING
   SWWD FROM ERN NY INTO THE ERN CAROLINAS. BEHIND THIS SYSTEM..HIGH
   PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE CNTRL PART OF THE U.S. WITH COOLER AND
   DRIER CONDITIONS. OUT WEST...AN UPPER RIDGE WILL EXIST WITH
   CONTINUED WARM AND DRY WEATHER...THE EXCEPTION BEING THE FOUR
   CORNERS VICINITY WHERE AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR.

   AN EXTREMELY DRY AIR MASS WILL BE IN PLACE TODAY AS HIGH PRESSURE
   MODIFIES. AFTERNOON RH VALUES OF 5-10 PERCENT ARE ANTICIPATED OVER A
   LARGE AREA FROM THE NWRN GREAT BASIN INTO ERN OREGON AND WA AS WELL
   AS SRN AND WRN ID. THE VERY DRY CONDITIONS AND STRONG HEATING WILL
   RESULT IN A MDT TO HIGH HAINES INDEX. ALTHOUGH WINDS WILL BE WEAK
   MOST AREAS...WLY WINDS WILL INCREASE LATE IN THE DAY AND OVERNIGHT
   ESPECIALLY INTO THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF WA AND NRN ID AHEAD OF AN
   APPROACHING UPPER TROUGH THAT WILL AFFECT THE AREA ON WED.

   UPPER SYSTEM EXITS NEW ENGLAND. FARTHER W...ANOTHER STRONG UPPER
   TROUGH WILL MOVE RAPIDLY SEWD INTO THE NWRN STATES WITH ASSOCIATED
   SURFACE LOW OVER WRN ND/ERN MT DURING THE AFTERNOON. A STRONG COLD
   FRONT AND WIND SHIFT WILL EXTEND FROM THIS LOW WWD INTO SRN MT AND
   NRN WY WHERE WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH LOW RH TO PRODUCE CRITICAL FIRE
   CONDITIONS.
   
   ELSEWHERE...VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE
   GREAT BASIN INTO SRN CA WHERE SINGLE DIGIT RH WILL OCCUR WITH
   LOCALLY GUSTY AFTERNOON WINDS.

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS AHEAD OF AND BEHIND A COLD FRONT
   AND LOW RH
   
   IT WILL BECOME VERY WINDY FROM ID EWD TO THE NRN HIGH PLAINS AS A
   LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM STRENGTHENS. BY MIDDAY...STRONG WLY WINDS OF
   20-30 MPH ARE LIKELY OVER THE ENTIRE AREA AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT
   WHICH WILL BE OVER NRN MT. THIS FRONT WILL MOVE RAPIDLY
   SEWD...CAUSING AN ABRUPT WIND SHIFT TO NWLY AT 20-30 MPH WITH HIGHER
   GUSTS. BY LATE AFTERNOON THIS FRONT SHOULD EXTEND FROM ERN MT INTO
   NRN WY. RH LEVELS AHEAD OF THE FRONT ARE LIKELY TO BE IN THE 10-20
   PERCENT RANGE.
