   A STRONG UPPER LOW OFF THE WA COAST EARLY THIS MORNING WILL DEEPEN
   AND ADVANCE SOUTHWARD TO THE NRN CA COAST THIS AFTERNOON...INDUCING
   SURFACE CYCLOGENESIS OVER THE GREAT BASIN AND STRONG/GUSTY WINDS
   OVER A LARGE PORTION OF THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST. TO THE EAST...UPPER
   RIDGING HOLDS STRONG FROM TX TO NEW ENGLAND...AND AN UPPER LOW
   REMAINS STALLED OVER THE FLORIDA PENINSULA. SHOWERS AND
   THUNDERSTORMS WILL EXTEND FROM FLORIDA NORTHWARD TOWARD THE CAROLINA
   COASTAL PLAIN...WITH MAINLY AFTERNOON/EVENING SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS
   POSSIBLE IN THE CENTRAL/SOUTHERN PLAINS AND SOUTHERN ROCKIES. HIGH
   PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE AND ALOFT WILL KEEP LIGHT WINDS AND TRANQUIL
   FIRE CONDITIONS FROM NEW ENGLAND TO THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY.

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: LOW RH AND VERY WINDY
   
   AS A STRONG SHORTWAVE/UPPER TROUGH DROPS SOUTHWARD TO NORTHWEST CA
   THIS AFTERNOON...MID/UPPER LEVEL SOUTHWEST WINDS INCREASE FROM
   CENTRAL CA TO SOUTHWEST WY. MEANWHILE...SURFACE LOW PRESSURE
   DEVELOPS OVER THE NORTHERN GREAT BASIN...PRODUCING A LARGE AREA OF
   STRONG SOUTHWESTERLY SURFACE WINDS /20 TO 30 MPH/ FROM THE LOW
   DESERTS OF CA/AZ TO SOUTHERN WY. WIND GUSTS ARE LIKELY TO EXCEED 40
   MPH WITHIN THE CRITICAL AREA...WHILE THE DRY AND WARM LOW LEVEL
   AIRMASS PLACES THE MINIMUM RH AT OR BELOW 10 PERCENT IN THE SOUTHERN
   CRITICAL AREA TO AROUND 15 PERCENT IN THE NORTH. AS A DRY BUT STRONG
   SURFACE COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH NORTHWEST SECTIONS OF THE GREAT
   BASIN EARLY THIS EVENING...WINDS SHIFT TO NORTHWESTERLY AND CRITICAL
   CONDITIONS MODERATE RAPIDLY.
   
   ...SOUTHERN WY...
   THE BREEZY/WARM/DRY CONDITIONS WILL EXTEND TO SOUTHERN WY AS THE
   AFOREMENTIONED LOW DEEPENS ALONG THE WEST COAST. BORDERLINE CRITICAL
   FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TODAY AS GUSTY SOUTHWEST
   SURFACE WINDS INCREASE TO 20 TO 25 MPH AND RH FALLS INTO THE UPPER
   TEENS.

   ONLY MINOR CHANGES ARE EXPECTED IN THE OVERALL LARGE SCALE PATTERN
   FROM WEDNESDAY TO THURSDAY. THE STRONG UPPER LOW ALONG THE WEST
   COAST SLOWS ITS SOUTHWARD MOVEMENT...BECOMING NEARLY STATIONARY
   ALONG THE CENTRAL CA COAST. THE WESTERLIES WILL BE CONFINED TO THE
   NORTHER TIER OF THE U.S. AND SOUTHERN CANADA...AS A DOMINANT UPPER
   RIDGE EXTENDS FROM TEXAS TO SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. AN UPPER LOW
   REMAINS CUTOFF OVER FLORIDA...AND SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE IS THE
   DOMINANT FEATURE OVER LARGE PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL AND EAST.
   SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE AGAIN POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTHERN ROCKIES
   AND PLAINS...AS WELL AS OVER FLORIDA AND THE COASTAL PLAIN OF
   GA/SC/NC.

   PORTIONS OF THE GREAT BASIN AND INTERMOUNTAIN WEST. A COLD FRONT
   WILL ADVANCE TO EASTERN NV BEFORE BECOMING NEARLY STATIONARY...
   ALLOWING THE DRY/WARM/WINDY CONDITIONS TO PERSIST OVER EASTERN
   NV...SOUTHWEST UT...AND NORTHWEST CA THROUGH THURSDAY.

   THE WINDY...WARM...AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL EXTEND INTO SOUTHERN WY
