BORDERLINE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL DEVELOP THIS
AFTERNOON AS A STRONG UPPER TROUGH/CLIPPER SYSTEM MOVES SEWD OUT OF

MATERIALIZE BY EARLY AFTERNOON. THE DAY WILL START OUT QUITE

   ...WRN KS/ERN CO/OK & TX PANHANDLES...
IT WILL BE A VERY DRY DAY AS POST FRONTAL AIR MASS WARMS. A LEE-SIDE

DURING THE AFTERNOON DUE TO DRY FUELS AND LOW RH. WEAK WINDS WILL
   MINIMIZE THE THREAT.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SRN CA...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A BUILDING UPPER RIDGE ALONG THE W COAST WILL HELP SHIFT HIGH
PRESSURE SWD ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN AND INTO SRN CA WITH GUSTY
OFFSHORE WINDS AND LOW RH. TO THE E...SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL
EXTEND FROM THE SRN PLAINS EWD INTO THE ERN STATES WITH LOW RH FROM
IL SEWD INTO GA AND THE CAROLINAS. A STRONG UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE
EWD ACROSS THE NRN PLAINS AND GREAT LAKES WITH COOL BUT WINDY

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN CA...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS...LOW RH AND VERY DRY FUELS

LIGHT OFFSHORE FLOW WILL BEGIN DURING THE DAY ON FRIDAY WITH LOW
HUMIDITY IN THE TEENS. WINDS WILL STRENGTHEN OVERNIGHT...MAINLY
CONFINED TO CANYONS AND PASSES BUT THE GUSTY WINDS WILL LIKELY REACH
THE VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COAST BY SATURDAY MORNING. ALTHOUGH NOT

OF 20-30 MPH WITH LOCALLY HIGHER GUSTS WILL CREATE CRITICAL FIRE
   CONDITIONS.

...NRN GA...WRN SC AND SWRN NC...
BORDERLINE CRITICAL CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE FRI AFTERNOON WITH A
VERY DRY AIR MASS IN PLACE AND GUSTY N WINDS. A MODERATE PRESSURE
GRADIENT WILL REMAIN IN PLACE BETWEEN HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NW AND
NOEL OFFSHORE. NELY WINDS OF 10-15 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE AS A RESULT.
STRONG HEATING WILL BRING RH LEVELS WELL INTO THE 20 PERCENT RANGE.
THE LOW RH AND WIND COUPLED WITH DROUGHT SUGGEST CRITICAL CONDITIONS
MAY MATERIALIZE FOR AT LEAST A FEW HOURS FRI AFTERNOON...AND
PORTIONS OF THE AREA MAY BE UPGRADED IN NEXT DAY 1 OUTLOOK IF
   CONDITIONS WARRANT.

   ...NERN MO/NRN AND WRN IL...

MO TO 15-20 MPH INTO NRN IL. RH WILL REMAIN FAIRLY LOW...GENERALLY
   FROM 20-30 PERCENT.
