DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK RESENT 1
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0353 AM CDT FRI NOV 02 2007

   VALID 021200Z - 031200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SWRN CA...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
UPPER RIDGE AXIS WILL BUILD/EXTEND EWD INTO THE GREAT BASIN AS UPPER
TROUGH ACROSS THE N CNTRL CONUS CONTINUES EWD. AT THE SURFACE...HIGH
PRESSURE WILL EXTEND FROM THE CNTRL PLAINS WWD TO THE GREAT BASIN.
THE ADVANCING HIGH WILL PRODUCE GUSTY NELY WINDS AND LOW RH ACROSS
SRN CA. STRONG WINDS WILL ALSO OCCUR ACROSS THE NRN PLAINS IN A POST
   FRONTAL REGIME.

MEANWHILE...A DRY AIR MASS WILL REMAIN OVER THE MID MS AND OH
VALLEYS...EXTENDING SEWD INTO THE APPALACHIANS AS WELL. NLY SURFACE
WINDS ACROSS THE WRN CAROLINAS AND GA WILL RESULT IN A MARGINAL FIRE
WEATHER THREAT AS NOEL PUSHES NEWD.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SWRN CA...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS...LOW RH

IT WILL BE WARM AND VERY DRY TODAY WITH OFFSHORE FLOW DEVELOPING.
INITIALLY...THE GUSTY WINDS WILL BE CONFINED TO THE MTN PASSES BUT
WILL INCREASE AND SPREAD TO THE VENTURA/WRN LOS ANGELES COUNTY
COASTS BY SAT MORNING. SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 15-25 MPH WILL BE COMMON
WITH HIGHER GUSTS OF 30-40 MPH NEAR FAVORED PASSES/CANYONS. RH WILL
REMAIN LOW OVERNIGHT AND WILL BECOME EXTREMELY LOW ON SATURDAY.

   ...WRN CAROLINAS...NRN GA...
IT WILL REMAIN DRY TODAY AS NLY WINDS BLOW OUT OF A SURFACE HIGH TO
THE N. SUSTAINED WINDS AROUND 10 MPH ARE LIKELY ACROSS
GA...INCREASING TO NEAR 15 MPH INTO CNTRL NC/SC WITH SOME HIGHER
GUSTS. RH WILL BE LOWEST WHERE WINDS ARE WEAKER...DROPPING INTO THE
25-30 PERCENT RANGE. RH LEVELS INCREASE WITH EWD EXTENT...WITH A
CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE ERN CAROLINAS. EXISTENCE OF DROUGHT
CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY FROM CNTRL GA INTO WRN SC...SUGGEST A
MARGINAL FIRE THREAT FOR A FEW HOURS THIS AFTERNOON.

   ...ND/SD...
IT WILL BE WINDY TODAY IN A POST FRONTAL REGIME AS UPPER TROUGH
MOVES EWD INTO THE GREAT LAKES. SUSTAINED WLY WINDS OF 20-30 MPH ARE
LIKELY ALONG WITH GUSTS OVER 30 MPH. TEMPERATURES WILL BE
   COOL...STRUGGLING TO REACH 50 F. HOWEVER...LOW DEWPOINTS WILL BRING
RH VALUES DOWN TO 20-25 PERCENT IN GENERAL FOR A MARGINAL FIRE
   THREAT THIS AFTERNOON.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0358 AM CDT FRI NOV 02 2007

   VALID 031200Z - 041200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SWRN CA...
...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NRN GA...E CNTRL AL...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
HIGH PRESSURE WILL COVER NEARLY THE ENTIRE CONUS WITH A RIDGE OVER
THE W AND A TROUGH IN THE E. THE HIGH PRESSURE WILL CREATE DRY
OFFSHORE FLOW INTO SRN CA...AND RESULT IN LOW RH ACROSS THE SERN
STATES. A WINDY PATTERN WILL CONTINUE OVER THE NRN HIGH PLAINS WITH
   NWLY DOWNSLOPE FLOW.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SWRN CA...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: LOCALLY STRONG OFFSHORE WINDS AND VERY LOW RH

OFFSHORE WINDS WILL BE ONGOING EARLY IN THE MORNING AND WILL
CONTINUE TO BE STRONG THROUGH AT LEAST EARLY AFTERNOON. THIS WILL BE
THE PEAK OF THE WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20-30 MPH APPEAR
LIKELY WITH HIGHER GUSTS OF 30-40 MPH THROUGH PASSES. ELY WINDS AND
LOW RH WILL BE STRONGEST OVER LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES. THE
WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH VERY WARM TEMPERATURES AND HUMIDITY IN THE
SINGLE DIGITS TO CREATE HAZARDOUS FIRE CONDITIONS. RH RECOVERY WILL
BE POOR OVERNIGHT AND GUSTY WINDS WILL PERSIST ALTHOUGH SOMEWHAT
   WEAKENED.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NRN GA...E CNTRL AL...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: VERY LOW RH...GUSTY WINDS...EXTREME DROUGHT

A REINFORCING SURGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL RESULT IN INCREASED WIND
AND VERY LOW RH SAT AFTERNOON ACROSS MUCH OF SERN STATES. THE MOST
CRITICAL COMBINATION OF LOW RH NEAR 20 PERCENT...AND WINDS OF 10-15
MPH WILL OCCUR FROM NRN AL EWD INTO GA. ALTHOUGH WINDS WILL ONLY BE
MARGINAL...THE SEVERE DROUGHT CONDITIONS COMBINED WITH VERY LOW RH
WILL LIKELY RESULT IN CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS.

   ...WRN DAKOTAS AND NEB...ERN WY...
NWLY WINDS WILL INCREASE BEHIND A LOW PRESSURE TROUGH WITH SUSTAINED
SPEEDS OF 20-25 MPH AND HIGHER GUSTS. THE DOWNSLOPE FLOW WILL WARM
TEMPERATURES INTO THE UPPER 50S TO LOWER 60S WITH MIN RH NEAR 20
PERCENT FOR A MARGINAL FIRE THREAT SAT AFTERNOON.

   ...SC...SRN GA AND AL...NRN FL...
SURROUNDING THE CRITICAL AREA...LOW RH IN THE 25-35 PERCENT RANGE
WILL BE LIKELY BUT WITH SLIGHTLY WEAKER WINDS...GENERALLY AT OR
   BELOW 10 MPH.
