...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SRN CA ALONG AND S OF THE COASTAL
   RANGE FOR LATE MONDAY NIGHT...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
DRY HIGH PRESSURE WILL COVER MUCH OF THE U.S. TODAY IN WAKE OF STORM
SYSTEM THAT MOVED THROUGH ON SUNDAY. A SECONDARY UPPER TROUGH WILL
BE OF LITTLE CONSEQUENCE AS IT TRAVELS EWD ACROSS THE SRN
PLAINS/LOWER MS VALLEY ATOP DRY AIRMASS. TO THE W...A STRONGER UPPER
TROUGH WILL AMPLIFY AS IT MOVES SEWD ACROSS THE ERN GREAT BASIN AND
CNTRL ROCKIES. A STRONG AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL FOLLOW...SETTLING
ACROSS ERN NV BY TUE MORNING. THE SUBSEQUENT PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL
RESULT IN VERY STRONG WINDS FOR PORTIONS OF SRN CA LATE MONDAY NIGHT
   INTO TUE.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN CA ALONG AND S OF THE COASTAL
   RANGE FOR LATE MONDAY NIGHT...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: INCREASING SANTA ANA WINDS AND LOWERING RH

FAIRLY TRANQUIL CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED FOR MOST OF THE DAY ON
MONDAY AHEAD OF THE MAIN COLD FRONT. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM INTO THE
LOWER 70S WITH MIN RH MAINLY IN THE 15-25 PERCENT RANGE. THE
STRONGEST WINDS WILL NOT MATERIALIZE UNTIL AFTER 00Z...BEGINNING
ACROSS NRN LA AND VENTURA COUNTIES AND SPREADING SEWD ALONG THE
ENTIRE COASTAL RANGE BY TUE MORNING. AT THAT TIME...SUSTAINED NELY
WINDS OF 20-30 MPH WILL BE COMMON ESPECIALLY ACROSS NRN LOS ANGELES
AND ERN VENTURA COUNTIES...WITH MUCH HIGHER GUSTS EXCEEDING 50-70
MPH THROUGH FAVORED PASSES AND CANYONS. TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOL
OVERNIGHT BUT RH WILL BE FAIRLY LOW DUE TO MIXING...FROM 15-20
PERCENT INLAND BUT LOCALLY LOWER IN THE WINDIEST LOCALES.

...SERN U.S. EXCLUDING CNTRL AND SRN FL...
A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE WILL EXTEND EWD ALONG THE GULF COAST PROVIDING
COOL BUT DRY WEATHER. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S TO LOWER 60S AND
LIGHT N WINDS OF 5-10 MPH WILL COMBINE WITH MIN RH IN THE 20 PERCENT
RANGE TO CREATE A MARGINALLY CRITICAL FIRE SITUATION FOR A FEW HOURS
DURING THE AFTERNOON. AREAS OF RECENT PRECIPITATION...LIGHT WINDS
AND SHALLOW INVERSION HEIGHTS WILL HELP LIMIT THE OVERALL THREAT.
