   VALLEY...ALTHOUGH THE GRADIENT IS FORECAST TO GRADUALLY WEAKEN

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: VERY STRONG SANTA ANA WINDS AND LOW RH
   
   WITH HIGH PRESSURE SHIFTING EASTWARD ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN AND A
   STRONG OFFSHORE GRADIENT ACROSS SOUTHERN CA /TPH-LAX AROUND 12
   MILLIBARS/...VERY STRONG/GUSTY NORTH-NORTHEAST WINDS WILL BE ONGOING
   ACROSS THE COASTAL AREAS OF SOUTHERN CA THIS MORNING. WHILE 30-40
   MPH WINDS WILL BE COMMON...GUSTS OF 50-70 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED
   THROUGH FAVORED PASSES/CANYONS FROM THIS MORNING INTO THE EARLY
   AFTERNOON...WITH A GRADUAL WEAKENING TREND THEREAFTER. OWING TO THE
   OFFSHORE/DOWNSLOPE TRAJECTORIES...RH WILL DECREASE THROUGH THE
   DAY...DROPPING INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS AND TEENS AS AFTERNOON
   TEMPERATURES RISE TO THE UPPER 60S/LOWER 70S. IN SPITE OF THE VERY
   STRONG WINDS AND LOW RH TODAY...EFFECTS OF PRECIPITATION LAST WEEK
   WILL LIKELY PRECLUDE EXTREMELY CRITICAL CONDITIONS.

   STRONG HIGH PRESSURE ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN WILL INCREASE NORTHERLY
   WINDS ACROSS THE LOWER CO RIVER VALLEY OF SOUTHERN NV/SOUTHEAST
   CA/WESTERN AZ TODAY. NORTHERLY WINDS OF 20-30 MPH WILL BE
   COMMON...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. AFTERNOON RH VALUES SHOULD DROP INTO THE

   PRESSURE IS FORECAST TO BUILD ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN LATE IN THE

   NORTHWEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE ACROSS CENTRAL/SOUTH TX
   DURING THE DAY WEDNESDAY IN THE WAKE OF A SURFACE LOW AND ASSOCIATED
   COLD FRONT CROSSING THE ARKLATEX VICINITY/WESTERN GULF COAST STATES.
   SUSTAINED WINDS OF 15-20 MPH ARE LIKELY...WITH HIGHER GUSTS.
   MARGINAL NATURE OF EXPECTED WINDS/AFTERNOON RH VALUES SHOULD
   PRECLUDE A CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER RISK.

   A WEAK TO MODERATE OFFSHORE GRADIENT WILL RETURN BY LATE WEDNESDAY
   INTO EARLY THURSDAY FOR SOUTHERN CA. WHILE LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS WILL
   BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE COASTAL AREAS LATE IN THE PERIOD...THE
   OFFSHORE GRADIENT WILL BE OF RELATIVELY SHORT DURATION WITH
