...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR LOWER CO RIVER VALLEY...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A POTENT UPPER TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE IS FORECAST TO DRIVE SEWD INTO
THE SWRN STATES TODAY PUSHING A COLD FRONT INTO AZ. HIGH PRESSURE
BUILDING IN BEHIND WILL LEAD TO TIGHTENED PRESSURE GRADIENT AND
INCREASING WINDS OVER SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF AZ...NM...AND EXTREME SW
TX...WITH LOW RHS. FOLLOWING THE FRONTAL PASSAGE...OFFSHORE FLOW
WILL LEAD TO DRY SANTA ANA WINDS ACROSS SOUTHERN CA WHERE RECENT
RAINFALL AND FUEL MOISTURE WILL LIMIT FIRE POTENTIAL.
MEANWHILE...BROAD HIGH PRESSURE IN THE SE WILL SLOWLY SHIFT TO THE
MID ATLANTIC BY LATE AFTERNOON...WITH LOW RHS AND LIGHT WINDS ACROSS
   THE SE.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN AZ...SRN NM...AND EXTREME SW
   TX...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WSW WINDS AND LOW RH

INCREASING PRESSURE GRADIENT AHEAD OF A POTENT UPPER TROUGH AND
ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT WILL LEAD TO A WARM AND DRY WSWLY FLOW ACROSS
PORTIONS OF SRN AZ...SRN NM...AND EXTREME SW TX. HIGH TEMPERATURES
IN THE AFTERNOON WILL REACH THE UPPER 60S AND LOWER 70S...WITH
AFTERNOON RHS DROPPING INTO THE TEENS ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA.
INCREASING WINDS WITH SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 20 TO 25 MPH AND HIGHER
   GUSTS CAN BE EXPECTED.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - LOWER CO RIVER VALLEY...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG NLY WINDS AND LOW RH

UPPER TROUGH WILL DIG SEWD INTO AZ WITH AMPLIFIED HIGH PRESSURE
BUILDING IN BEHIND. THE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL LEAD TO STRONG NLY
WINDS ACROSS THE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY WITH SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 20
TO 25 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS EXPECTED BY AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES
WILL REACH THE UPPER 60S AND LOWER 70S...WITH AFTERNOON RHS DROPPING
INTO THE TEENS ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA.

   ...SRN CA...
UPPER TROUGH WILL SHIFT SEWD WITH ATTENDANT COLD FRONT DRIVING INTO
WRN AZ. FOLLOWING THE FRONTAL PASSAGE...INCREASING OFFSHORE FLOW
WILL LEAD TO DRY SANTA ANA WINDS ACROSS SRN CA BY AFTERNOON WITH THE
STRONGEST WINDS IN FAVORED PASSES AND CANYONS. RECENT RAINFALL AND
MOIST FUEL CONDITIONS WILL MAY MITIGATE FIRE THREAT DESPITE
   FAVORABLE WINDS AND RHS.

   ...SERN STATES...
BROAD AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE TENNESSEE AND MISSISSIPPI
VALLEYS WILL PROGRESS EASTWARD TOWARD THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION. DRY
CONDITIONS WILL BE COMMON ACROSS MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST...WITH
FORECAST MINIMUM RHS RANGING FROM THE TEENS TO THE MID 20S. DESPITE
