   DAY 1 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0307 AM CDT TUE MAY 27 2008

   VALID 271200Z - 281200Z

   ...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
THE UPPER LOW/TROUGH OVER THE WRN CONUS WILL RETROGRADE A
BIT...ALLOWING AN UPPER RIDGE TO BUILD INTO THE FOUR CORNERS STATES
WITH VERY WARM AND DRY AIR RETURNING NWD. HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN
IN PLACE OVER THE SERN STATES...PROVIDING WARM AND DRY WEATHER FROM
SRN GA INTO FL. ANOTHER AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL SPREAD EWD ACROSS
THE NRN PLAINS INTO THE GREAT LAKES IN A POST FRONTAL
   REGIME...PROVIDING COOL THE DRY CONDITIONS.

   ...SRN GA/AL INTO FLORIDA...
PRESENCE OF HIGH PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURES OF 85-90 WILL RESULT IN A
FEW HOURS OF MIN RH OF 35-40 PERCENT AWAY FROM THE COAST THIS
AFTERNOON. ELY WINDS SHOULD AVERAGE 10-15 MPH....RESULTING IN NEAR
CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS WHERE FUELS ARE DRIEST.

   ...AZ/NM/SW TX...
UPPER RIDGING WILL COMMENCE TODAY...WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS
PERSISTING. MODERATE SWLY FLOW ALOFT AND MIXING WILL HELP TO CREATE
SWLY WINDS NEAR 15 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS THIS AFTERNOON. RH WILL BE
LOWEST OVER NM AND FAR SW TX...WITH VALUES FROM THE UPPER SINGLE
DIGITS TO THE LOWER TEENS LIKELY.

   DAY 2 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   0332 AM CDT TUE MAY 27 2008

   VALID 281200Z - 291200Z

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NRN AND ERN AZ...WRN NM...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AN UPPER RIDGE WILL CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN FROM THE FOUR CORNERS
STATES EWD ACROSS THE CNTRL PLAINS. TO THE W...AN UPPER TROUGH AXIS
WILL BE JUST OFF THE CA COAST AND WILL SHIFT INTO THE GREAT BASIN
WED NIGHT. WINDS WILL INCREASE AHEAD OF THIS TROUGH...AND WILL
COMBINE WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS TO PRODUCE CRITICAL FIRE
   CONDITIONS FROM AZ INTO NM.

ELSEWHERE...LOW AFTERNOON RH CAN BE EXPECTED OVER INTERIOR FL AND GA
   WITH SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - NRN AND ERN AZ...WRN NM...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS AND LOW RH

STRONG SWLY FLOW ALOFT AND A STRENGTHENING UPPER RIDGE WILL HELP
BRING WARM AND DRY AIR NWWD ACROSS THE FOUR CORNERS STATES. MIN RH
IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TO LOWER TEENS WILL BE LIKELY WED AFTERNOON.
STRONG HEATING AND MIXING WILL RESULT IN GUSTY WINDS...ESPECIALLY
LATE AFTERNOON AS AN UPPER TROUGH BEGINS TO BREAK DOWN THE RIDGE
OVER AZ. SUSTAINED SWLY WINDS OF 20-25 MPH ARE PROBABLE WITH HIGHER
GUSTS ESPECIALLY OVER THE MTNS OF NRN AZ.

   ...INTERIOR FL/SRN GA...
WARM TEMPERATURES NEAR 90 AND THE EFFECTS OF WEAKENING HIGH PRESSURE
WILL STILL YIELD POCKETS OF LOW RH NEAR 35 PERCENT SRN GA AND 35-40
PERCENT INTERIOR FL PENINSULA. WLY WINDS OF 10-15 MPH WILL OCCUR
MAINLY OVER ERN AND SERN FL...WITH LIGHTER SPEEDS OVER SRN GA.
