   PLAINS. ZONAL FLOW ALOFT WILL STRETCH FROM THE PACIFIC NWD ACROSS
   THE NRN ROCKIES AND PLAINS...WITH AN UPPER TROUGH MOVING ACROSS THE
   ERN GREAT LAKES. A TRAILING COLD FRONT FROM NY SWD ACROSS THE
   APPALACHIANS WILL PROVIDE HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS.

   MODERATE ZONAL FLOW ALOFT WILL COMBINE WITH HEATING TO CREATE WLY
   SURFACE WINDS OF 20-30 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. RH WILL DROP INTO THE
   10-15 PERCENT RANGE AS WELL. ALTHOUGH WINDY AND DRY...LOCAL
   OFFICIALS INDICATE THAT OVERALL FUEL CONDITIONS DO NOT WARRANT A
   CRITICAL FIRE THREAT.

   HOT AND DRY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE WITH AN UPPER RIDGE BUILDING. RH
   IN THE SINGLE DIGITS AND LOWER TEENS WILL OCCUR AND A HIGH HAINES
   INDEX WILL RESULT...FAVORING AFTERNOON UPSCALE FIRE GROWTH.
   HOWEVER...SUSTAINED WINDS WILL GENERALLY REMAIN BELOW 10-15 MPH.

   MID/UPPER MS VALLEY REGION. A WEAKENING FRONT ALONG THE E COAST WILL
   ALSO PROVIDE RAIN AND STORMS DURING THE AFTERNOON.
   
   ...GREAT BASIN INTO FOUR CORNERS STATES...
   A HIGH HAINES INDEX WILL REMAIN IN PLACE DUE TO VERY HOT AND DRY
   CONDITIONS UNDER THE UPPER RIDGE. FLOW AROUND THE RIDGE MAY MIX TO
   THE SURFACE DURING THE AFTERNOON...WITH ENHANCED SWLY WINDS NEAR 15
   MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS FROM SRN CA EWD ACROSS SRN NV...AZ...UT...NM.
   SUSTAINED WINDS WILL NOT BE NEAR CRITICAL CRITERIA...BUT ANY ONGOING
   FIRES MAY INCREASE DURING THE AFTERNOON.
