   PRESSURE WILL DEEPEN OVER KS AND OK AS A DISTURBANCE ROUNDS THE E
   SIDE OF THE UPPER RIDGE. LOCALLY STRONG SLY WINDS WILL OCCUR ACROSS
   TX AND OK...ALONG WITH WARM TEMPERATURES AND STORMS LATE IN THE DAY
   AND OVERNIGHT. ELSEWHERE...A SURFACE TROUGH WILL BRING STORMS TO THE
   SERN STATES.
   
   ...CA/GREAT BASIN INTO AZ/NM...
   VERY HOT AND DRY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THIS AFTERNOON UNDER THE
   UPPER RIDGE. A HIGH HAINES INDEX WILL RESULT AND WILL FAVOR LATE
   AFTERNOON FIRE GROWTH WITH ANY ONGOING FIRES. DEEP MIXING WILL HELP
   TRANSPORT WINDS OF 15-20 MPH TO THE SURFACE...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
   TERRAIN DRIVEN GUSTS. ALL THIS...IN COMBINATION WITH DRY FUELS WILL
   RESULT IN NEAR CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS FOR A FEW HOURS AROUND PEAK
   HEATING.

   TERRAIN DRIVEN WINDS WILL FURTHER ENHANCE THE AFTERNOON FIRE THREAT
