   A STRONG UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN OVER THE WRN STATES PROVIDING VERY
   HOT AND DRY WEATHER FROM CA EWD ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN AND INTO THE
   DESERT SW. A THERMAL LOW WILL EXIST OVER SW TX/SERN NM WITH GUSTY
   SELY WINDS AND VERY HOT TEMPERATURES. MEANWHILE...A STRONG UPPER
   TROUGH WILL AFFECT THE GREAT LAKES INTO THE NERN STATES WITH COOLER
   WEATHER AND PRECIPITATION. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE NRN
   PLAINS AND UPPER MS VALLEY WITH COOLER AND DRIER CONDITIONS.
   
   ...CA/NV/SRN UT/NRN AZ...
   VERY HOT AND DRY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE WITH A HIGH HAINES INDEX
   DURING THE AFTERNOON. MIN RH IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TO LOWER TEENS
   WILL BE COMMON ALONG WITH LOCALLY GUSTY AND MAINLY TERRAIN DRIVEN
   WINDS. ONE SLIGHTLY ENHANCED AREA FOR WIND WILL BE SRN UT...NRN AZ
   AND CO RIVER VALLEY. HERE...SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 15-20 MPH APPEAR
   LIKELY ALONG WITH HIGHER GUSTS...BUT IN GENERAL THESE WINDS SHOULD
   REMAIN BELOW CRITICAL THRESHOLDS.
   
   LATE IN THE DAY...SOME CONVECTIVE BUILDUPS MAY OCCUR OVER THE HIGH
   TERRAIN OF NRN AZ...AND DESPITE VERY LOW MOISTURE CONTENT...AN
   ISOLATED LIGHTNING STRIKE MAY OCCUR. ALTHOUGH SPARSE...ANY STRIKE
   COULD EASILY START A FIRE GIVEN DRY FUELS.

   VERY HOT AND DRY WEATHER WILL PERSIST UNDER THE RIDGE. A HIGH HAINES
   INDEX...INDICATIVE OF A VERY DRY AND UNSTABLE LOWER
   ATMOSPHERE...WILL AGAIN FAVOR UPSCALE FIRE GROWTH DURING THE PEAK
   HEATING HOURS. IN GENERAL...WINDS WILL BE LIGHT BUT LOCALLY GUSTY
   AND TERRAIN DRIVEN WINDS WILL OCCUR IN FAVORED AREAS.
