   AN UPPER SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVING ACROSS THE NRN PLAINS AND UPPER MS
   VALLEY WITH CLUSTERS OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVING ACROSS THE AREA. TO THE
   W...WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL EXPAND NWD BENEATH A STRENGTHENING
   UPPER RIDGE ACROSS MUCH OF THE WRN STATES. MONSOONAL MOISTURE WILL
   RESULT IN THUNDERSTORMS OVER AZ/NM/CO...PRODUCING RAIN AND STRONG
   WIND GUSTS. 
   
   TO THE E...A SURFACE HIGH WILL BE CENTERED OVER THE
   APPALACHIANS...WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS PREVAILING BUT WITH LIGHT
   WINDS.
   
   ...CA INTO THE GREAT BASIN...
   VERY HOT AND DRY WEATHER WILL PERSIST UNDER THE BUILDING UPPER
   RIDGE. STEEP LOW TO MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES WILL INCREASE INSTABILITY
   DURING THE AFTERNOON WITH A MDT TO HIGH HAINES INDEX DEVELOPING FROM
   THE CNTRL CA VALLEYS INTO THE GREAT BASIN. SWLY WINDS WILL INCREASE
   DURING THE AFTERNOON TO NEAR 15 MPH BUT WITH HIGHER GUSTS. IN
   ADDITION...ENOUGH MOISTURE MAY BE PRESENT FOR ISOLATED DRY
   THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY OVER THE HIGH TERRAIN OF CNTRL NV. MORE
   NUMEROUS STORMS WILL OCCUR TO THE E OVER UT AND AZ...BUT THE CHANCE
   OF WETTING RAIN WILL INCREASE AS WELL WITH HIGHER MOISTURE CONTENT.
   STILL...A FEW OF THE STORMS OVER THE S-CNTRL MTNS OF UT MAY BE DRY.

   SPREAD NWWD AROUND THE HIGH INTO THE PACIFIC NW AND NRN ROCKIES.
   MOISTURE WILL INCREASE AS WELL ACROSS UT...WRN WY AND SERN ID WITH
   ISOLATED DRY THUNDERSTORMS. LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS WILL OCCUR OVER NRN
   CA INTO SRN OREGON...ALONG WITH HOT AND DRY WEATHER.
   
   ...NRN CA INTO WRN AND SRN OREGON...
   A MODERATE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL EXIST LATE IN THE DAY BETWEEN HIGH
   PRESSURE ALONG THE COAST AND A THERMAL LOW/TROUGH AXIS OVER ERN OR
   INTO THE WRN GREAT BASIN. LOCALLY GUSTY NLY WINDS OF 15-20 MPH ARE
   EXPECT ALONG THE ORE COAST...WITH SLY WINDS OF 15-20 MPH OVER THE
   NRN SACRAMENTO VALLEY. GIVEN RH IN THE TEENS AND HOT
   TEMPERATURES...THIS MAY RESULT IN A MARGINAL FIRE THREAT.
   
   ...CNTRL AND SRN HIGH PLAINS...
   A THERMAL LOW WILL DEEPEN OVER ERN CO LATE IN THE DAY...UNDER THE
   UPPER RIDGE. VERY HOT AND DRY WEATHER WILL OCCUR...AND SLY WINDS
   WILL INCREASE TO 15-20 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS OVER ERN CO...WRN
   KS...NERN NM...AND THE OK AND TX PANHANDLES. SOME PRECIPITATION HAS
   FALLEN RECENTLY BUT LOCALIZED AREAS THAT HAVE RECEIVED LITTLE RAIN
   AS OF LATE WILL SEE AN ELEVATED FIRE THREAT.
   
   ...SERN STATES...
   A WEAK SURFACE HIGH WILL KEEP CONDITIONS DRY AND CALM WITH HOT
   TEMPERATURES. ALTHOUGH WINDS WILL BE LIGHT...LOW RH IN THE 20
   PERCENT RANGE FROM NRN GA INTO THE CAROLINAS ALONG WITH HOT
   TEMPERATURES OF 95-100 MAY RESULT FAVORABLE BURNING CONDITIONS WHERE
   FUELS REMAIN DRY. HOWEVER...LACK OF WIND WILL MITIGATE THE THREAT.
