...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SWRN KS...OK PANHANDLE...FAR SERN
   CO...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AN UPPER-LEVEL HIGH WILL REMAIN ANCHORED ACROSS THE SRN HIGH
PLAINS...WITH AN EXPANSIVE RIDGE AXIS EMANATING NEWD ACROSS THE
GREAT LAKES TOWARDS SRN HUDSON BAY. AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH WILL
PERSIST FROM THE CANADIAN PRAIRIES TO THE NRN ROCKIES/PACIFIC NW
WITH SEVERAL EMBEDDED VORTICITY MAXIMA TRANSLATING EWD. AT THE
SURFACE...LOW PRESSURE WILL TRACK ALONG THE SD/NEB BORDER WITH A
TROUGH DRAPED SWWD THROUGH THE CNTRL HIGH PLAINS.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SWRN KS...OK PANHANDLE...FAR SERN
   CO...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: MODERATE TO STRONG WINDS / LOW RH / DROUGHT

A RELATIVELY TIGHT SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT S OF A TROUGH WILL LEAD
TO SUSTAINED SLY WINDS OF 20 TO 25 MPH...DESPITE WEAK
MID/UPPER-LEVEL FLOW. MODEL GUIDANCE CONTINUE TO INDICATE BOUNDARY
LAYER MOISTURE WILL INCREASE SLIGHTLY COMPARED TO PREVIOUS DAYS.
ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN HOT /FROM 100 TO 105/...RH VALUES
   SHOULD BE MORE MARGINAL /FROM 15 TO 20 PERCENT/.
NEVERTHELESS...GIVEN PERSISTENT EXTREME DROUGHT OVER PORTIONS OF THE
   REGION...A CRITICAL AREA APPEARS JUSTIFIED.

   ...UPPER SNAKE RIVER PLAIN...
TEMPERATURES WILL WARM TO AROUND 85 TO 90...RESULTING IN LOW RH OF
FROM 10 TO 15 PERCENT. MAJORITY OF MODEL GUIDANCE SUGGEST THE
KINEMATIC PROFILE WILL BE SLIGHTLY WEAKER COMPARED TO SAT. THIS
APPEARS TO BE PRIMARILY DUE TO A MID/UPPER-LEVEL IMPULSE AND ITS
ASSOCIATED SPEED MAX...NOW OVER THE NRN HIGH PLAINS...CONTINUING TO
SHIFT E AWAY FROM THE REGION. DEEP MIXING SHOULD STILL RESULT IN
SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS NEAR 20 MPH AT PEAK HEATING LEADING TO A
   MARGINAL/BRIEF CRITICAL THREAT.

   ...CNTRL HIGH PLAINS...
SIMILAR TO SAT...DIURNALLY ENHANCED SCATTERED TSTM DEVELOPMENT IS
EXPECTED ACROSS THE CO/SRN WY FRONT RANGE AND ALONG A SURFACE TROUGH
ARCING NEWD FROM THE PALMER DIVIDE TOWARDS CNTRL NEB. WITH SURFACE
DEW POINT DEPRESSIONS INITIALLY NEAR 60 DEGREES...INVERTED-V TYPE
THERMODYNAMIC PROFILES WILL SUPPORT HIGH-BASED TSTMS WITH
   GUSTY/ERRATIC OUTFLOW WINDS. HOWEVER...PW VALUES AROUND 0.75 TO 1
INCH AND MODEST STORM MOTIONS SUGGEST A MIXED DRY/WET TSTM MODE.
