   CO...EXTREME NERN UT...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
A VIGOROUS UPPER-LEVEL SHORT WAVE TROUGH CENTERED ALONG THE SRN
BRITISH COLUMBIA/PACIFIC NW COAST WILL TRANSLATE EWD REACHING THE
CANADIAN PRAIRIES/NRN HIGH PLAINS BY EARLY FRI. AN ATTENDANT
MID-LEVEL SPEED MAX /500 MB WLYS AOA 70 MPH/ WILL SPREAD FROM THE
PACIFIC NW ACROSS THE NRN ROCKIES BY THIS AFTERNOON. A SURFACE

   ...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - CNTRL/SRN WY...FAR NWRN CO...EXTREME
   NERN UT...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS / LOW RH / LONG-TERM DRYNESS

A POTENT MID-LEVEL JET WILL IMPINGE UPON THE NRN ROCKIES
CONCURRENTLY WITH THE STEEPENING OF LOW-LEVEL LAPSE RATES THROUGH
DAYTIME HEATING. THIS WILL LEAD TO STRENGTHENING LOW-LEVEL W/SWLYS
AND SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH DURING MUCH OF THE
AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES SHOULD AGAIN WARM INTO THE 80S TO LOWER 90S
AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT...WITH RH VALUES DIPPING BETWEEN
   10 TO 15 PERCENT.

   ...E-CNTRL NV/W-CNTRL UT...

FRONT. SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS MAY BRIEFLY EXCEED 20 MPH AROUND PEAK
HEATING...WHILE RH VALUES DROP TO NEAR 10 PERCENT. THIS SHOULD
RESULT IN A PERIOD OF SHORT-DURATION/LOCALIZED CRITICAL CONDITIONS.
