...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR COASTAL AREAS OF SRN CA...

SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL SETTLE OVER THE ROCKIES AS HIGH PRESSURE
ALOFT AMPLIFIES OVER THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST. OFFSHORE FLOW WILL
CONTINUE IN SRN CA...WHERE STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS WILL AFFECT
COASTAL AREAS THIS MORNING THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. ALTHOUGH THE
PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL RELAX BY LATE AFTERNOON...HOT AND DRY
CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE WITH POOR RH RECOVERY EXPECTED OVERNIGHT.

IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST...ANOTHER STRONG SHORT WAVE TROUGH WILL
APPROACH THE COAST...DRIVING A COLD FRONT EWD INTO THE COASTAL
   RANGES BY EARLY MORNING.

FARTHER E...AN UPPER LOW CENTERED ROUGHLY NEAR THE MN/IA BORDER AT
THE START OF THE PERIOD WILL DRIFT ENEWD ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES
REGION. AT THE SURFACE...A COLD FRONT WILL EXTEND SWD TO THE GULF
COAST...REMAINING JUST W OF THE APPALACHIANS BY DAY...AND MOVING EWD

THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT THESE AREAS IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE

MEANWHILE WINDS ACROSS THE CNTRL AND HIGH PLAINS WILL GENERALLY
RELAX COMPARED TO YESTERDAY AS THE AFOREMENTIONED SYSTEM MOVES EWD
AND WEAKENS. COOL NWLY FLOW WILL LIMIT RH FROM REACHING CRITICAL
   THRESHOLDS.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - COASTAL AREAS OF SRN CA...

   PRIMARY CONDITIONS: STRONG WINDS...LOW RH

OFFSHORE FLOW WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT SRN CA TODAY. STRONG AND GUSTY
NELY WINDS WILL BE LIKELY THIS MORNING ON THE WRN SLOPES OF THE
COASTAL RANGES AND THROUGH FAVORED PASSES AND CANYONS. THESE WINDS
WILL BE JUXTAPOSED WITH SINGLE DIGIT RHS AND DRY FUELS. SINGLE DIGIT
RHS AND WARM TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY IN A
DOWNSLOPING REGIME...BEFORE THE PRESSURE GRADIENT RELAXES LATE IN
THE DAY. ALTHOUGH WINDS LATE FRI AFTERNOON AND SAT MORNING WILL
GENERALLY BE LIGHTER...AN EXTENDED DURATION OF DRY CONDITIONS AND
POOR RH RECOVERY OVERNIGHT WILL LEAD TO DRIER FUELS...ENHANCING THE
   OVERALL THREAT.
