...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR SOUTHERN ARIZONA...

   ...SYNOPSIS...
AS THE WRN U.S. TROUGH DIGS INTO THE SOUTHWEST SUNDAY...THE FLOW
OVER THE NATION SPLITS WITH A STRONG ZONAL BRANCH EXTENDING FROM SRN
CA TO THE GULF COAST...AND A NEARLY STATIONARY UPPER LOW OVER THE
GREAT LAKES. BY LATE IN THE AFTERNOON...A VIGOROUS UPPER LEVEL
SHORTWAVE IS EXPECTED OVER NRN AZ WITH A MOSTLY DRY SURFACE COLD
FRONT EXTENDING FROM THE FOUR CORNERS REGION TO CNTRL BAJA. THIS
WILL RESULT IN DRY AND WINDY CONDITIONS PARTICULARLY OVER SRN AZ.
FARTHER EAST...WEAK SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED FROM THE UPPER
MIDWEST THROUGH FL...MAINTAINING THE DRY CONDITIONS OVER THE
   SOUTHEAST.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA - SRN AZ...

PRIMARY CONDITIONS: LOW RH AND WINDY

AS A VIGOROUS SHORTWAVE APPROACHES NWRN AZ SUNDAY AFTERNOON...WLY
FLOW INCREASES ALOFT. FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL APPROACH AND
LIKELY EXCEED CRITICAL CONDITIONS DURING THE AFTERNOON AS SWLY/WLY
SURFACE WINDS INCREASE TO 20 TO 30 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. A DRY
SURFACE COLD FRONT WILL PASS DURING THE AFTERNOON...BUT DEEP
BOUNDARY LAYER MIXING WILL INHIBIT A SIGNIFICANT WIND SHIFT. MINIMUM
RH IS EXPECTED TO FALL TO BETWEEN 10 AND 15 PERCENT...WITH AFTERNOON
TEMPERATURES REACHING THE UPPER 60S TO LOWER 70S.

   ...GULF COAST/FLORIDA...
LIGHT NWLY/NLY WINDS AT OR BELOW 10 MPH WILL MAINTAIN VERY DRY
CONDITIONS ACROSS MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST AND THE FL PENINSULA.
MINIMUM RH WILL FALL TO 30 TO 35 PERCENT OVER THE INTERIOR
SOUTHEAST...AND AS LOW AS 25 TO 30 PERCENT NEAR THE GULF COAST TO
CNTRL FL. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 70S OVER THE FL
PENINSULA TO THE LOWER 60S FROM CNTRL AL TO WRN SC.
