   A STRONG UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE EWD ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES AND INTO
   SERN CANADA TODAY WITH A COLD FRONT TRAILING FROM NY SWWD ACROSS THE
   TN VALLEY AND INTO THE SRN PLAINS. NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND
   THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR ALONG THIS FRONT. BEHIND THE FRONT...COOL
   AND DRY WEATHER WILL PREVAIL DUE TO HIGH PRESSURE ACROSS THE NRN AND
   CNTRL PLAINS AS WELL AS THE MID AND UPPER MS VALLEY.
   
   TO THE W...AN UPPER RIDGE WILL BUILD ALONG THE PACIFIC COAST. VERY
   WARM AND DRY WEATHER WILL PREVAIL FROM CA INTO THE GREAT BASIN AND
   DESERT SW...BUT WITH MAINLY LIGHT WINDS.
   
   ...CA DESERTS AND VALLEYS...SRN GREAT BASIN...AZ...
   VERY WARM CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL THIS AFTERNOON WITH AN UPPER RIDGE
   STRENGTHENING OVERHEAD. HIGH TEMPERATURES FROM THE MID TO UPPER 90S
   INTO THE LOWER 100S F WILL BE COMMON WITH MIN RH IN THE SINGLE
   DIGITS DESERTS AND TEENS ELSEWHERE. ALTHOUGH WINDS WILL BE LIGHT...A
   MDT TO HIGH HAINES INDEX WILL BE IN PLACE WITH DRY AND UNSTABLE

   STATES...AND WILL SPREAD NWD AS THE UPPER RIDGE BUILDS. THE UPPER
   RIDGE WILL BE CENTERED OVER THE GREAT BASIN...WITH HOT AFTERNOON
   TEMPERATURES...LOW RH AND LIGHT WINDS.
   
   TO THE E...A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE OFF THE NEW ENGLAND AND MID
   ATLANTIC COAST BY AFTERNOON...BUT WILL TRAIL SWWD INTO SRN GA/NRN FL
   WITH THUNDERSTORMS. A VERY DRY AIR MASS WITH HIGH PRESSURE WILL
   EXIST BEHIND THIS FRONT...COVERING MUCH OF THE PLAINS STATES INTO
   THE MIDWEST AND GREAT LAKES. SLY FLOW WILL INCREASE ON THE BACK SIDE
   OF THIS HIGH...ACROSS THE CNTRL AND SRN HIGH PLAINS WHERE WARMER AND
   DRIER WEATHER WILL PREVAIL.
   
   ...ERN CO INTO SW KS...
   WARM AND DRY AIR WILL SPREAD NEWD ACROSS THE ROCKIES AS THE UPPER
   RIDGE EXPANDS. DURING THE AFTERNOON...A LOW PRESSURE TROUGH WILL
   DEEPEN ACROSS THE NRN AND CNTRL HIGH PLAINS. SWLY WINDS OF 15-20 MPH
   WILL BE LIKELY OVER ERN CO...WRN KS AND WRN NEB DUE TO AN ENHANCED
   PRESSURE GRADIENT. MIN RH WILL AVERAGE IN THE 15-20 PERCENT RANGE
   FOR A MARGINAL FIRE THREAT.
